I have all kinds! I have always had them they are for long hair and short hair alike. I have the afro puff pony for when its time for a perm, the permed long pony (which my husband said is ghetto..I hardly wear that one)., the curly one which you can pin up and make look very formal, and another one. Please when you don't feel like doing your hair, they are great! I wear them with long hair so people never think there ponys at work, but the sistas know

I'm the only person of AfAm descent at my job, so my adopting of the QWs did cause comment. I even was on my department's staff meeting agenda.
People actually thought my boss hired a new reporter. I mean, come on. You don't recognize my face or voice?

I've just started wearing them- twice for me, actually got me one for my Easter 'do, and got compliments on it! I hate to wear curls, they are so hard to maintain, it's the pony and the french roll for me!

Re: Phony Pony Wearers Unite
I wore weaves here and there for fun when I was a little younger. It's a way of life in the ATL. LOL. Although, never had a pony tail, moreso tracks and all the rest!
Never had braids b/c I'm afraid of damage to the edges of my hairline, and just don't see paying in excess of 200 for 6 weeks of hairdo. Ok, so I'm tight with my money sometimes.
I don't see anything wrong with weaves. If it looks good, so be it!

I would wear the phony ponies when I had a perm. Let me tell you that it is a quick, cute style that can last as long as you need it too.

With summer coming, I will invest in a phony pony!! I get so lazy with my hair during the summer! It just gets too hot to be fussing with hair!

I've been wearing a phony pony since May 2004. It has been really good for my hair because I haven't been abusing it by putting a lot of heat on it, and it's grown quite a bit.
Since it will be a year of phony pony wear this May, I'm thinking about a change. I just haven't figured out how I want to wear my hair when I remove my ponytail.
