USSR 1917-1992...NPC 1902-?

Shame on you, Russell Warshay...you know NPC has already lasted longer than the Soviet Union!

Yes, while it seems to work well in PanHell, it is strange that on campi such as a 6,500 populatin there are only 3 Soroities. None are to size as so decided. My Question is why are they not.

Just maybe, with say 100 Ladies in said Organizations, there are many out there who would like to join someone else.

Same Campus, I started a local with 6 Fraternitys, and while there have been ups and downs, Male Greeks out number Female Greeks (Orgs that is 2-1).

What about Soroitys with 100 + members, who knows who? Is that what a Fraternal Organization is supposed to be, I dont no Sue, Mary, Aswanda, Maylyn, well who do I know in My Soroity? This also goes for Male Greek Orgs. Okay?

I just Guess the idea of a Fraternal Greek Organization is to know and work with your Brothers/Sisters, not be just names and strangers!

That's because the NPC hasn't invaded Afghanistan... yet.

What are the total number of members of the fraternities vs sororities?

Please do not flame me, I could be completely wrong because, as I stated above, I lack any hard knowledge of inner sorority structure.
Maybe the pledgeship is "easier" than fraternities' but trust me, the getting the bid certainly isn't! If guys had to go through formal rush like girls do (especially at a really Greek-heavy school) they would be screaming "stop hazing me!!" before the first day of parties was over. hee hee.

God Bless these little old ladies

In my opinion, sororities have more members commonly than fraternities because they are better operated and managed.

Although I laugh at the little old ladies (alumnae) who run each sorority, in fact that is their secret. While the undergrad sorority members can't take a leak without getting approval from three alumnae, they also can't have a blackface party, move the couch onto the front porch, or have a kegger in the house library without getting approval.

Before they can get approval for something, they must actually think about it, figure out how much it costs, and compute potential legal bills - and then ask the little old ladies.

Often the answer is "that sounds great, we know you'll enjoy it, and just think how much better it will be IF:

1 - you can co-sponsor it with a fraternity
2 - have all of the crowded events at the fraternity's house
3 - get the fraternity's pledges to do the work
4 - get the fraternity to pay for it"

"Oh, and be sure you are not wearing any letters while drinking the fraternity's beer (and not out of a can)."

The sororities' success is based on the big number of active advisors and supervisors every successful chapter has.

God Bless these little old ladies for the interest they have, and the time they give.

Sororities are generally larger, because the advisors know that makes for strong, successful, and wealthy chapters.

Sororities are larger because there are fewer sorority chapters. There are fewer sorority chapters because NPC rules restrict expansion. Its about economics.

The sororities on our campus are much more expensive than fraternities - the fraternities average about $600/semester, whereas the sororities are running $1500/semester but they have house mom's and palace's to live in.

Your NPC delegate did not suck up to the appropriate authorities during debutante school, Comrade 33hoff.
