Alumnae status for Alpha Sigma Tau is either you graduate, leave school, transfere to a school that doesnt have an AST chapter (but even then sometimes the sister decides not to be active in the chapter at their new school and remains alumnae, you have to be voted into the new chapter to be recongnized, we did this last year with one of our girls), or if you get married you have the option to go alumnae.
Alpha Sigma Tau has a professional status that is for any women who is in their senior year and are doing a intern ship for their major. Professional status only requires them to pay full dues and attend rituals but we strongly encourge them to attend other events. BUT you can only be granted professional status once and it must be approved by your chapter advisor.
I also heard from someone on Alpha Sigma Tau's national staff that they are looking into letting a girl go Alumnae if she is in her 5th year of school aka 5th year senior. So basically after you put in 4 yrs of the sorority you have the option to go alumnae. BUT this right now has not been approved yet by Nationals. They are looking into it.
