Let's be honest, I'm immature. I did it to an ex before a job interview.

What did you say? I told kids that some art company would send them supplies every month if they kept it on their hands......

You actually convinced them to keep it on? I've done it a million times. I've done it at a graffiti party with permanent markers. When I did it to the girl, I did it in regular ink and she sat there spitting on her hand for a while.

I get treated differently because I'm bipolar. I don't hide it; I feel no need to. Me having bipolar isn't any different than someone having diabetes. It's just a disorder I have. I do well with medicine...very well. But I have bad days too. But see when you're bipolar, if you have a bad day, people ask, "did you take your medicine today?" I'm not abnormal. I'm not a psycho. So don't treat me differently.

Also, Hootie, I COMPLETELY AGREE about stay at home moms. Mine is one. She could have worked; she did before she had children. She CHOSE to stay at home and raise us.

*I'm 22 but I look 15 or 16. Guys ask me if I'm legal. Ushers don't hand me a church program unless I insist (they don't hand out programs to kids).

*The reason here is unknown. People treat me as if
i'm really sympathetic (strangers have told me their life story), innocent (lol), a pushover, and naive. People get suprised whenever I act less than sunny. Funniest thing is that people don't treat me like this on the internet. So, I assume there's some kind of non-verbal signals that I send out in person.

*Like AXJules people percieve me as bitchy and racist because of my sense of humor. If someone thinks I'm unfunny, fine. But, there's no need to think that you're on my sh*t list because I said something sarcastic or that I'm a bigot because I said something less than PC. Sometimes it's those that I'm the most sarcastic to are the ones I like the most.

1) Working mom. You get it at work because you have to take time off every time they're sick, have a snow day, or a school break (and you can't find a babysitter). You get it because all the swimming lessons, dance lessons, etc start right after school or are during the day in the summer. Scouting summer day camps start at 9:00 am and end at 3:00 pm making it impossible for my kids to go. And NO, I can't be the Girl Scout Leader AND the Cub Scout Leader AND be on the PTA. When I do take a day off to go on a field trip, I'm not in the "In" group of SAHMs who hang out together every day while the kids are in school so nobody talks to me (except parents I know from being a Cub Scout Leader and a soccer coach).

2) Divorced (and happy to be on my own). NO, I'm not going to steal your husband, I got rid of one of those for a reason. NO, I don't want to be set up with your husbands co-worker who just got divorced. NO, I don't want to be married ever again because it's the most overrated institution on this planet. NO, I wouldn't stay together for the kids because it was hell on them while they lived in a house with two adults who couldn't speak two words to each other without getting into an argument and you'll never convince me that it was better for them to live with two parents simultaneously with that kind of tension in the house! NO, I don't feel lonely or sad when I'm alone on a holiday.. it's a treasured break when I can stay in my jammies and read a good book or watch a chick flick all by myself! And, lastly, It is MUCH easier to be a single mom than to deal with an idiot husband on top of raising two kids!

I am treated different because I am southern.

Yes I say yall but no I am not supid. Just because I am southern an 20 does no mean I smoke pot or drink (ever, nasty stuff) or sleep around (don't date, don't have time)

Yes, I am catholic and Irish. That does not mean I want a big wedding and have 3000 children. I honestly don't care for kids (expect my cousins).

Yes my parents are both diabled (in one way or another) That does not mean they (or I) am stupid. My dad is in a wheel chair, why are you yelling at us like we are deaf? He can't walk, I push him around... that is all. Stopping treating him like he is 2!!!

OMG i can relate so much on so many of those things being a single divorced mother of a pre school and soon to be this coming yr a regular school aged child who is involved in many extra activities.

I am treated differently because i am from a well off family and have had things handed to me like a brand new house for my son and I, a new car paid off after an accident, my schooling always paid for, gift money from inhertance on a yearly basis, but i really resent being treated unfairly becasue of wt or the fact i have things.

What they dont understand is that i am not stuck up nor have a shallow view or personality. I have been blessed in my life and i know how to work hard and to value things. I just wish society would look at a person closer then to judge on superficial and material things.

This is a good thread. I think that I get treated differently because . . . .

1. I am attractive. I'm not trying to be conceited but I think that I am good looking and most men seem to agree. Because of that, I get doors held open for me, seats given up for me on public transportation, and other little things like that. Almost everyday, somebody does something nice for me that I know they don't have to do.

2. I wear expensive clothing. I tend to wear very nice clothing and carry designer handbags. People always think that I am rich and that everything that I even touch cost hundreds of dollars. Most of my clothes were bought on sale and extremely marked down. Can we say 70% off?

3. I look young. I can still pass for a high school student or maybe even younger. One day, I was shopping and wrote a check for my things. The cashier had to call it in for confirmation because it was an out of state check. My father and I have a joint checking account so he can easily depost money into my account. This cashier asked me if I was old enough to be writing checks and if I had permission to use the checks. Isn't that my name on them right there?????

I get treated differently by all kinds of people for numerous reasons.
Because I like to build things and enjoy real, physical labor (play in the dirt, saw, paint, hammer, drill) men think I'm cool and women think- "What ya trying to do, make us LOOK bad"
Some because I am unaffected by social stratas-it drives people mad that I don't give a hoot about what's going on and I'm not a big gossip, therefore I'm not considered "fun" by some.
Others because my Hubby's family has standing and they think by virtue of marriage it should carry over-see above. I have been called a "flower child" as recently as a year+ ago.

I am intelligent, outgoing, sarcastic and MOST would say funny.
It can put people off, but it's nothing compared to being known as a straight shooter-which I am.

I am known as a highly creative person, so I get a lot of requests
and for my opinion or ideas.
I too look younger than my age so that is agravating to many women. Plus I'm tall, so my weight isn't TOO much of a problem.
HA ha, one more-I have a low voice (think Lauren Bacall) so older people LOVE to talk to me-I'm in their hearing range.

Can ya tell I've got more male friends than female???

It's like being in a museum. Everyone sees me as really a piece of perfection, ya know? It's hard but once I had some girls try and get me to stand on a pedestal so they could admire me.

By pedestal I meant the back of a supermodel. They have amazing backs. You can stand on them and you'll never fall off.
