I just can bring my self to pay 200 for a purse. I feel bad about $50 for a Vera Bradley.

I sometimes carry my AUTHENTIC Fendi Mama Zucca bag (brown with the big F's) . Thankfully, there are no Fendi stores within 4 states on all sides though.

KR, I like you bag and I haven't seen that many knockoffs in that color or style. I say BUY IT!!!

Don't buy it. They don't know any better. Buy some cool jeans instead.

I'm a big Coach fan, and I definitely say go for the bag. It's so adorable and I really doubt you're gonna find knockoffs in that style. For lack of sounding like a snob, I have to say that with fake bags, you can tell that they're fake from like a mile away, so you really shouldn't have to worry at all about people thinking that it's fake.

Girl I completely understand your fear of people assuming you're carrying a fake, but think of it this way....anyone who knows their stuff about designer purses will be able to tell from a mile away that yours ISN'T fake. The people that judge you are the ones who buy awful awful knockoffs out of someone's Radio Flyer wagon next to the bagel stand. Who's approval would you rather have??
AMEN!!!!!! I just bought my mom a Sig. Coach and she knew nothing of the Coach line - just b/c she doesn't pay that much attention. But now, even she will say "is that fake?". I hate fake Coach purses. Especially when you're in Victoria's Secret and a girl compliments you on your bag and then says "I just got mine" and it has big ol' G's on it. Don't tell me your purse is Coach with G's on it!

Ok, I know you don't want a Boy's opinion, so disregard this if you want, lol. I think you should get the bag if you love it and it makes you happy. However, in my humble opinion, the C bags are played out. Everyone and there Mama has one or a cheap knockoff. I say get a "classic" looking Coach that will still be fashionable years from now (ie. something from the Hamptons collection). But, like I said, if you love it don't pay attention to what others say. And, like someone else said those in the know will be able to see yours isn't fake. By the way, one of my best friends has an extensive Coach collection, so I'm not just making this up.

I guess I don't follow purses all that much to know the difference, but I will say this...I see a lot of "designer" purses and if the gal that carries it isn't looking ultra classy, I assume it's fake. I know that sounds shallow, but we're talking about $200+ purses. If you OWN the real deal, at least dress like it
In the mean time, I'll still dress classy and strut with my fake Gucci I got at a purse party. Everyone compliments me on it, and I don't let them believe anything but what they want....sorta like the fake jewelry I'll wear sometimes

hey now...thats not always true amyp. on sundays when i run my errands/go grocery shopping in warmups/scrubby clothes i carry my burberry, and i can assure you its real. just because you aren't always dressed to impress doesn't mean your bag is fake..sometimes this is true, but not always

Just about every girl in the middle school where I teach a lot has either a fake Coach or a fake Louis. You can sort of tell, though...I mean, they're 13-year-olds, for crying out loud, and I don't really know of any parents in my town who would buy their kid a designer purse (this is a small, sort of redneck place). I think if you want that purse, buy it! You'll know it's real, and besides, wouldn't more people be apt to think your purse is real than the ones these kids are carrying around?

PS. I've seen these green ones on the Internet...they're really pretty!

Thanks for all the advice, everyone! I appreciate it

I will probably end up getting the bag . I am hoping the Signature collection will end up being a classic like the Gucci or LV monograms, instead of being super trendy but I guess it's imossible to tell ahead of time so I may as well take the plunge!

I just don't want it to end up like my Kate Spade messenger bag that my 8 year old is now using for her school books! lol

I think the STYLE of bag you've picked makes a big difference. It's incredibly classy, somewhat grown-up, but still fun with the signature fabric. Although the style is new, I would wager it's not likely to be knocked off with the same frequency as some of the other Coach signature pieces. I would definitely go for it- this Coach is one of my faves!

I love my coach clutch - in all red, no khaki thank god. I HATE BURBERRY! I'm sorry but in the area I live (Tampa, FL) there aren't any respectable women that carry them. I don't know how to say it without being a complete snob but they're all ghetto trash. It's a real shame too. I think the bag that you're looking at purchasing will be a GREAT purchase! It's a classic khaki that will never go out of style and you can carry all year round. Go buy it already!

Wow, allow me to hijack this thread by saying that you are a really good mom if you're letting your 8 year old do that. I don't think my mom would've ever let me do something like that. Your daughter's lucky. End hijack.
