Yes, I still have mine at 31. I have endured colds, viral infections and ear infections and they are still with me. I am not sure if in the near future I still have them or not, but I shall cross that bridge when I get there.

I do not have mine. They were removed when I was 2 years old. All I remember was getting lots of ice cream and jello.
I had tons of ear infections as a child and the tonsils were the cause.

Nope, I live by myself in an apartment.

As for having a sore throat 6 times in 6 months - - I could have that covered in 6 weeks!! Now another question - - Are any of you smokers?

Mine have been gone since I was 7 years old and good riddens. I havent had strep throat since A super strep germ that became immune to anti-biotics was hiding in my tonsils and the only way to get rid of it was to remove them.

I had mine taken out at the age of 22! I was sick all the time with strep. I had it so bad that my tonsils were covered in scar tissue from all the strep. I had 11 cases in 10 months and I was finally able to convince the Dr. it was time for them to go. every since then I have had no problems with stress and hardly any sore throats. I do find that I get things now that I never used to like Bronchitis. I have had that 6 times since having them removed.

I still have mine. I remember just about everyone getting them out when I was in elementary and jr. high, but from what I hear, they aren't so quick to do that anymore.

I got my tonsils and adnoids taken out when I was seven. I was considered to be a little young to get them out, but I desperately needed it, because I was missing too much school over tonsillitis. On the other side, my dad got his tonsils out when he was 54!

Do they still take them out? I might be wrong but isn't there a new method to zap the tonsils with lasers instead of removal.

I had tonsillitis that wouldn't go away for slightly over 2 months last semester. I have the beginning of it again right now. They refuse to take them out though...
I hate my tonsils.

I caught a bad cold in high school and my tonsils got infected. They were so swollen that they actually pushed up and you could see them in the back of my mouth. I ended up having them and my adenoids removed about two months later.

Recovery was so painful. I thought that I would just get to eat ice cream all day, but that didn't happen. I guess throat surgeons don't believe in that anymore because the people at the hospital gave me a cheeseburger to eat the morning after my surgery. I was in pain and could barely eat or swallow for two weeks. I ended up losing 8 pounds, which devastated me because I was already a string bean.
