Telemarketer slammed the phone on me

One of my friends told me that with so many people putting their names on the "do not call" lists, you can get PAID to put your name on an "ok to call" type of list. You don't need to buy anything, you just have to let them call, answer (or ignore the call?) and tell them you are not interested. I'm not sure how much it pays or how often you would be called, but it was touted as an easy income for college students & the like.

Have any of you heard of this?

That whole idea goes under my "Hell to the naw" list. I know it puts food on the table for some people, but if I really wanted to buy something, I'll go out and buy it, or I'll research it on the net. Telemarketing sucks!

BTW, my brother and I have a hobby of making telemarketers hang up on us. You can ask a bunch of stupid questions about the product, their job, how old they were when they had their first menage a trois, etc. So far, we have a 100% success rate. YEAH!

LOL that is too funny!...I got a random one at work not too long ago, only this telemarketer was from a different country! I kid you not...He started speaking Japanese!! I tell him "no, no japanese" and he starts in on spanish!...by then i was too threw and told him..."No hablo espanol, yo hablo ingles...adios"

Please forgive me for crashing your forum, but this is a BIG pet peeve of mine. My last name is easy to pronounce, but I get calls from telemarketers who can't say it right. I tell them wrong number. If they ask for Mrs., I tell them wrong number. If they ask for Mr. (there isn't one) I pause for a long time and then say "He doesn't live here anymore" and they usually ring off pretty quickly.

In order to stop receiving calls from telemarketers say, "Put me on your do not call list." They are not allowed to call you again after that.

One day I had the same company call me four times in four hours. I had to beg them to stop calling. There was some sort of problem where the computer kept redialing the same numbers.
