Do you think it would be weird if one of your parents remarried, and the new spouse was only 10 years older than you? This hasn't happened to me (my parents are still together), I know someone whose stepmom is only 10 years older than her older brother.

When I was in high school, I wasn't interested in younger men. Now, I see the age difference as merely a nonissue. I mean look at Aston and Demi, he's 15 or 16 years her junior. I have a crush on a guy that is 7 years younger than me (I'm 31 and he's almost 24).

WHOA! Ya threw me off a little and gave me chills! While I think it's completely wrong to suggest that homosexuals shouldn't marry, it was the other comment that's messing with me. It's so strange to me that we address discrimination while denouncing our connection to it. I know I do it and I don't like that about myself. But anyway, whew!!
So, about that age difference...
I've never dated anyone more than one year younger than I but I have dated men that are at least twelve years older. Most of the time, my limit is three years up and one year back.

When you're younger, even a 2 or 3 year age difference can cause problems. There's the maturity level thing, there's the whole one-of-you-can-drink-and-the-other-can't thing, and if you start talking about teenagers, statutory rape can enter the picture. Once you're past that point, though, age differences become less important unless they're HUGE. It depends on the couple, really.
I've dated guys ranging from 1 year younger to 3 years older than I was. My husband is 1 year older than I am. Never had a problem attributable to an age difference (except for one time when an ex wanted to go to a bar and I couldn't go with him because I wasn't 21 yet).
My husband dated a college freshman when he was a senior. She was totally immature. She used him to get into the Senior Ball and then dumped him the next day. Her loss, my gain!
A friend of mine is engaged to a woman who is 7 years younger than he is. She's very mature for her age; he's immature for his age. So it works out.

I like dating guys that are atleast a year older than me. It just usually works out that way. But, it is SUCH a pain being under 21 (and looking 16 to boot), and going out to dinner and not being able to drink with them. Like it seriously limits your options for dates and stuff to do. But I still like older guys. Now that I'm almost 21 though and still in the college environment, its getting a little bit harder to meet those older guys, so I've actually been out with one or two who were younger than me....and I immediately regretted it.

i typically date older guys--up to about 12 years older (i'm 25). the guy i'm currently dating is 3 months younger than me. which isn't much, but i rarely date anyone my own age, let alone younger. i don't think an age difference is much of a problem, but 15+ years can be kind of weird.

the age range of guys I dated is 2 years younger to 3 years older. I would never go any more than 2 years younger than me because my brother is 3 years younger, and I just have issues with that for some reason. The oldest guy I ever would date is 11 years older than me, but that's just one specific case. Other than that, I'd have to say 5 years older is my limit, I guess. It all depends -- I don't think I could date someone who isn't at the same kind of stage in his life as I am.

i dont really think that age differences are a big deal. ive always dated older guys. actually - ive always just let myself be around older people because most of the time they are more mature, and it sort of makes you want to be/act more mature.
the guy im sort of.. seeing ... right now, is 26, im 19 .. its an awfully big difference, but we have fun with each other, and actually understand each other. hes a good guy, and he treats me well, thats really all that matters .. not age

What do you guys think of a 23-year-old guy who dates a senior in high school? (He's a co-worker of mine.)
She's 18 I guess, so it's legal, but if our boss ever found out, he could lose his job. He's a sports writer and I believe she plays on one of the local HS sports teams.
I don't know, whatever works for him, but I would have a problem dating someone in such a different stage of life than me.

Come to NY and you'll see all the junior high school girls getting picked up in bling blingin cars at 3pm by their 23 year old boyfriends.

I don't understand this. Why would this guy lose his job? What they are doing is perfectly legal. I just don't understand what you're saying. Maybe I am reading this wrong. is it a conflict of interest thing?
ETA: Statutory rape laws are different I am guessing from state to state and province to province.
My brother's new girlfriend is 16...almost 17. He's 20. It's legal. Her parents know about it and adore my brother.

The issue here is that she plays on one of the teams he reviews. There could be bias. What I don't understand is why he can't be transferred to another department or something like that.
