If I hadn't heard it so many times in the past, I couldn't even say it, let alone spell it.

Tomorrow (Groundhog Day) would have been my parents' anniversary. That always embarrassed my parents, like they were groundhog worshipers or something.
Until the movie came out, I really thought it was just a "local" thing - Punxsy being about about 1½-2 hours away.

G-Hog Day 2005
First D.J.: Rise and shine, campers, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.
Second D.J.: It's cold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach?
First D.J.: Not hardly. So the big question on everybody's lips...
Second D.J.: On their chapped lips
First D.J.: ...their chapped lips is, does Phil feel lucky? Punksatawney Phil, thats right wood chuck chuckers its
Both: GROUND HOG DAY!!!
Any updates from our PA GCers? The weather forecasters down here don't really cover the groundhog's prediciton, because let's face it, we don't really have a winter here!

he saw his shadow. 6 more weeks of winter.
I don't remember the last time he DIDN'T see his shadow.
With all the camera lights on him, I don't know if it would even EVER be possible for him to not see his shadow in this day and age

If that rodent DIDN'T see his shadow, I wouldn't believe him! Six weeks is only the middle of March, so of course we'll have six more weeks of winter!

I don't really care what some damn groundhog says. There's snow on the ground, it's freezing, and I don't expect warm weather until August.

The two Canadian Groundhogs, Wiarton Willie and Balzak Billy (yes it's from the town of Balzak in Alberta) both predicted an early spring....one can only hope they are right

It's time for me to prognosticate.
As I study the sun
It's all about fun.
But I'm sorry to say
I see my shadow today.
When my shadow I see,
Six more weeks of winter there will be!
Phil must die of hypothermia
