MUCHO Congrats to Danielle. She must be thrilled to have placed in the top five finalists in the competition. She was just beautiful and very poised. I was rooting all the way WAY TO GO!!!

Don't mean to crash, but I wanted to say congratulations to DPhiE for Danielle's success. I've worked in several national preliminaries to Miss Universe and all of the directors are always impressed by Trinidad & Tobago's delegates. Although it certainly helped that Wendy Fitzwilliam (the second Miss Universe from T&T) and Mpule Kwelagobe (Miss Universe crowned in T&T in 1999) were on the panels, Danielle stood out throughout the competition for her genuine character and grace. Several of the delegates returning from the contest talked about her personal loss (I believe her mother passed away some time before the pageant) and how she was exceptionally composed about it. Although those of us in the Miss Venezuela camp were devastated by the final placements (our candidate, Ana Karina Anez, was the first to be eliminated in 22 years) everyone is very happy for Danielle's success. She will be the last Miss Trinidad & Tobago from her organization and has been a great credit to the Miss Universe system and to your sorority. Congratulations!

The current Miss Trinidad & Tobago Organization is forfeiting its license to Miss Universe to concentrate on other ventures. It was known after Danielle won that she would therefore be the last girl from this group to participate. However, Peter Elias, who runs most of the other international pageants' preliminaries for T&T, has taken over the license and in fact is currently in the process of conducting a new Miss Trinidad & Tobago pageant which will crown winners to both Miss Universe and its British rival Miss World. Although former winners are generally ignored or snubbed when there is a change of organization, Peter is a great guy and I believe he plans to acknowledge Danielle's success in Miss T&T 2004.
