I think a tatoo is equally gross on a man and would think long and hard about dropping one on a rushee who had one. It is indicative of where this guy would be coming from, and in my experience he would have to really be an exceptionally strong contender to get a bid. I believe this position is pretty much generally held throughout the brotherhood as I have almost never seen a DEKE with a tatoo and the comments from the guys were pretty cold when the subject came up.

Wow generalize much?
I'm a woman. I have 2 tattoos that mean alot to me. I didn't get them because they are "trendy" or the "in" thing to do. I don't care about what is trendy, because I actually can't stand trendy clothing or styles.
You may lose respect for a girl who has a tattoo, but I lose respect for you for generalizing so much. That's like saying "OMG I heard all those Deke guys are assholes. I met one and now I hate them all." How fair is that?

Hmmm, rather sensitive lot of tatooed girls we seem to have here.
I believe the stated purpose of this thread was: Question for the BOYS, do GUYS think tatoos are sexy or trashy?
Question asked and answered.
For Carolina Cutie, yes, as requested by this thread that is exactly what I think. The expressed opinion is my own and I also commented on my observation and experience that DEKEs of my acquaintence from several chapters (including Beta) generally dislike tatoos.
For PM_Mama00, it occurs to me that a very broadly stated question tends to require a rather generalized answer. In my generalized opinion tatoos diminish rather than enhance a woman. You are perfectly free to disagree with my opinion but since this thread asks for generalized opinions mine stands as stated.

I am not a guy...but I kinda don't know how I feel about tatoos. I don't have one but I have friends who do. Some of them are cute...but I don't think I could ever get one. I don't know why--I guess I just don't think I need one. More power to those who want them though. Some of my friends have cute ones.

I'm not a guy either....I personally would never get a tatoo...not because there is something wrong with them or anything, but it just doesnt mesh with my completely natural look..

It depends on the woman and tatoo. If the point is just to get a tatoo for sake of getting a tatoo, then there's no real attraction in that. However, if the tatoo is symbolic of something, or is some manner of expression, and it fits the personality, it can be sexy.

I will say that tattoos that are "cliche" i.e. the butterfly in the small of the back, etc aren't attractive. Anything on a breast, shoulder, neck, face to me read "trailer trash" (no offense to those that live in trailers, but y'all know what i mean).
Seriously, if a girls got a tattoo on her breast, i'm gonna expect her to be sporting a Fe-Mullet, be dating a guy driving an 85 Camero, and be a huge NASCAR/Harley Davidson fan.
Now, to me, tattoos that are discreet and have significant meaning to the girl are kind of sexy. If a girl has her symbol, initials of a friend who passed, something pertaining to family/school/glo in a "hidden" place to me that shows that she's got certain things she believes in passionately and isn't concerned with passing trends.
I have a tattoo. It's on my left ankle, and only visible if i'm wearing shorts and flip flops. It means a lot to me, it represents Sigma Nu, Texas, and Texas A&M. I'm extremely proud of making it through pledgeship and becoming a Sigma Nu, i'm extremely proud of graduating from a top school like Texas A&M, and i think we all know how proud i am about being from Texas. It's on my left ankle, so no matter where i go, Texas will be close to my heart(relatively speaking of course).
So, yes, trendy tattoos in extremely visible places = tacky. Tatts with significant meanings in discreet places = acceptable, sometimes sexy.

One of my friends once wanted a tatoo so he & I and a few others went to the tatoo parlor to look through all the books of the skectches of the different ones they did. Well there were some strange ones....my personal favorite was one ov two rats humping doggie style with little hearts above their heads.
I mean who would get that. I'd love to hear that... "Yes, I would like the rats humping on my forehead please." WTF?

I really have no problem with them as long as they are small and cute, like a little heart on the hip or something really small and not visable, nothing slutty though

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: question for the boys
What does being hot have to do with being trashy? A lot of hot girls are trashy. Sex in high school is trashy.

I went to my cousin's wedding and a bridesmaid had a tattoo visible on her breast over her dress. I found that trashy, especially in a church.
I don't have tattoos and don't want them.
