I would love to see a couple more sororities come to slu. we have 5 right now: adpi, sig kap, dg, kd, and gphib. average chapter size is around 130-150, which is pretty decent size, i would say we could use another chapter.

Currently there is
TriDelta (Alpha chapter)
Sigma Kappa (Delta - thanx SoCalGirl!)
Alpha Phi (Eta deuteron)
Gamma Phi Beta (Delta)
Delta Gamma (Zeta Zeta)
ADPi (Rho)
AEPhi (someone help me out here?)
Sigma Delta Tau (Alpha Xi)
A *lot* of early NPC history here. IMHO, the school should be waving their contribution to Greek life around like a banner.
Hey, one can dream........
ETA--a quick review of BU's Go Greek website showed I missed a couple. AKA and aKDPhi are also colonized under the Multicultural Greek Council.
ETA - crap, I forgot Tau Beta Sigma!! (The biggest partiers of all Greeks when I was an undergrad.)

I am assuming that there is now an AGD in addition to the XO and ADPi chapters there. Is this assumption correct Squirrely Girl?
I know that KD had a colony/chapter there in years past and had to close b/c of numbers.
Perhaps I am wrong, but unless the numbers show otherwise, I would not see expansion as a good idea as of now.

ASA is there too. We colonized sometime in the late 90's.

WPI - Worcestor Polytech Institute in Mass.
they have 2 NPC Chapters
Alpha Gamma Delta
Phi Sigma Sigma
I think this school would benefit from having a third chapter that could help balance them out. they seem to work more against each other than for each other. i've talked to quite a few students and alums from there and they feel the same way. they originally had a third chapter there, dphie, but i'm not exactly sure why they closed.

Kent State University has only 7 NPC and 3 NPHC sororites! That's compared to the 16 IFC and 3 BLGG fraternities. However, the IFC chapters are generally smaller (average 30-35 brothers per) so it it does sort of make sense because most of the NPC chapters have 50-60 sisters. Still! I'd like to see Tri-Delta or Theta Phi Alpha up here!

I would love to see a new sorority at the University of North Texas...just because a vote was brought before Panhellenic earlier this year about raising the quota of total members in each sorority. I also know, that in addition to our greek row, we have a space marked off for a 6th house( since Chi Omega will have a lodge elsewhere, maybe they have idea of expansion?) maybe texas*princess can help me out on this one. I think Delta Zeta closed in 2000( i believe, correct me if im wrong, i know they were there until at least 1999)...and KD was there at one point as well.
I dont think any fraternities will be expanding here soon, just because we have had several IFC fraternities kicked off in recent years,(and SAE about a month ago), and Alpha Tau Omega just got their charter.

Expansion
I think that UMKC (Univ of Missouri-Kansas City) needs to expand to include MCGLO's & LGLO's. Currently at the school there's:
Fraternities:
Alpha Phi Alpha
Beta Theta Pi
Kappa Alpha Psi
Lambda Chi Alpha
Sigma Phi Epsilon
Sororities:
Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Beta Sigma Phi
Delta Zeta
Delta Rho (local)
Delta Sigma Theta
Chi Omega

The University of Akron (Ohio) only has 5 NPC sororities. Not all of them are at total...but if a new sorority would not hurt or close an old one....I would love to see one there!
alpha delta pi
alpha gamma delta
alpha phi
delta gamma
kappa kappa gamma

University of Central Florida needs a new sorority. We have 10 chapters right now (ADPi, AZD, XO, DDD, DG, Theta, KD, KKG, PiPhi, ZTA). In the past 5 years, quota has ranged from 65 to 71. Total at UCF is 120 (I think) and some groups are at 170-190 members!

On campuses that need to expand, please consider passing on the name Phi Sigma Rho Sorority!!
Engineering-focused campuses such as WPI and Florida Tech would be ideal for Phi Sigma Rho. However, Phi Sigma Rho has also been very successful at large universities with engineering programs, such as Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Purdue, etc!
Although our initial membership is generally from engineering majors and some call us an engineering/technical sorority, Phi Sigma Rho is actually a purely social sorority and we do not allow duel membership with NPC or other social sororities. Since we niche market, we are successful in bringing more women into the Greek system who sometimes would not consider joining a social sorority due to the workload of their engineering majors.
Phi Sigma Rho helps to bring diversity and new leaders into the Greek system without impairing the recruitment efforts of existing sororities on a campus – a win, win situation for campuses that are hesitant in bring on a new national sorority!
Phi Sigma Rho's national web site is at: www.phisigmarho.org
