My ship died last year having that gastric bypass(sp) surgery. There are risk involved with any surgery, even with the best of surgeons. A beautiful young lady died, because society told her she wasn't thin enough.

I am very sorry to hear that.

When considering any surgery, do as much research as possible. Make sure that your surgeon is properly certified, and check their credentials. Talk to other people that have had the procedure. Some of the worst complications in surgery is infection and the loss of too much blood (esp in procedures that remove tissue ~ the surgeon has to be mindful that they are not removing too much). Websites usually have extensive links to FAQs (frequently asked questions), risks, complications, costs, and before and after pictures. People also set up online diaries that you can look through detailing their experiences and picturing their healing process.
