To answer your question: In a regular oven, you cook without the lid (unless the recipe tells you to do so), but in a microwave, you usually cook with the lid.
I was just told this morning to make my broccoli casserole, too. What I love about casseroles is that you can make them the night before, then just bake the day of "the event"!
I'll post the broccoli recipe, if y'all want it. Another recipe I found (but am
not going to try!) is a casserole of mashed potatoes & mashed yams, swirled together for a marbled effect. I just think the tastes would be confusing!
