I wouldn't mind that. His name was mentioned as a replacement to Pat Gillick except for the fact that he still had a year left. The M's open job might cause George to retain him since I know he loves messing with the other teams.

That would be good - I'd rather he keep Cashman for the wrong reasons than let him go. I just feel like it will start a domino effect.
The main thing I'm looking out for is if Mel stays as the pitching coach. He's close to Pettite, and I think one future is tied to the other.
