I've decided not to go the slim fast route. Basically here's my story. I'm 5'1 and weigh 130lbs. Two years ago I weighed 137 and it wasn't good weight(I looked chubby in the face etc.,) My mom had gained some weight too so she went to some doctor and we started on this diet where we had this powder stuff that you could make into a pudding or shake, you ate that for both breakfast and lunch and had a very low carb, good protein, lots of salad dinner(piece of skinless chicken or fish, small piece of bread, veggies anf fruit. No sweets, no bad snack food, our pantty was pretty bare. By March of 2001, I weighed 118 and looked pretty good due to power walking and Pilates. However, the summer was spent obessing over every calorie and exercising as much as possible, sometimes I would skip meals. Furthe down the road my mom and I both discovered our "diet" was less than a 1000 calories per day and had messed up our electrolytes. So basically once I got back to eating normal, the weight started to come back. However, I don't like the idea I gained weight, the funny thing is I feel most of it is due to gaining muscle in my legs from living in apartment that requires climbing 4 flights of staris multiplie times a day. I don't look chubby but I'm just not happy. I know our bodies change and all that and I certainly would rather be healthy and not due damage to my body. I've started to jog and trying to eat a little better but mom pretty much told me that my body may just not want to go back to 118 and it's not worth the fight. Thanks for the advice everyone!
