LOL @ Bush-anomics.

I totally agree. We are just getting over Reagonomics (which took well over 8 years to correct), If Bush screws us up, there's no telling how long it will take to recover.

Supreme Court appointees alone can be a detriment to everything that Civil Rights activists have worked so hard for.

And for all those who think that Gore has hurt his chances for the Election in 2004, I say this.

He get's my vote!!!!

I would vote for a man who stood up for his rights and the rights of others any day, over a man who let the coercions of others back him down.

Well the folks who wanted Gore to continue have just been given a small victory. It seems that at 4 pm today, the FL Supreme court ordered a recount of the ballots. I don't know if they can get it done by Tuesday, but we will see. This get's more twisted by the minute. It may be moot though, becuase the FL Legislature is about to select a set of Bush electors, and even if Gore wins, then it would be up to the US congress to vote on which set of electors is the valid one. I don't think Tom Delay is going to let Gore win it. I am still of the mind that he will not get to the presidency, but I will take a wait and see stance right now.

Oh, and MccoyRed is right about Bush and Ron messing up this country. I don't understand how people found Reagan to be such a great leader when he lied to everyone about what he knew about Iran Contra. The same folks wanted Clinton out becuase of the same thing that Ronny did. But I digress.

Peace and Luv, and have a great weekend

Thumbs up

I truly do believe that Gore has endured in this "battle for the presidency", but at this point, he's not making a good case for himself to become the next president. He could have had a shot at the White House within the four years.

Gore could have sat along the sidelines, and campaigned for his issues and worked to get some of his platform enacted. He could have capitalized on the situation for the next four years using multiple platforms.

Instead of taking the prudent course of action, he's now isolated many Democratic party members and those along the periphery. A noble man would have put up a fight, but recognize when there is a better way to achieve what you want.

It's time to through in the towel, while not ending the fight! Gore's desire to be "his own man" (also known as "pride") promises to lead to his political demise if he doesn't exhibit sportsmanship, and quickly.

Many of the latter responses are missing a very important point---A WHOLE HE%$ OF A LOT CAN HAPPEN IN 4 YEARS!!--lifetime Supreme Court Justice appointments, afirmative action legislation, defense budget spending, the economy, etc.

Daddy Bush and his buddy Alzheimer Ron screwed up the economy with their 'contribution' to the Federal budget deficit that it took a stockmarket crash and MORE than four years to get it together although the good times are now beginning to slip away (another issue).

I feel strongly that it is not in the best interest of the country for Al to concede. I would rather go through 4 weeks of ballot drama than four years of Bush-anomics!
