You know I really appreciate how Burger King has come up for vegetarians...to have a veggie burger on the menu....Although I am soooo addicted to the morningstar farms breakfast items that I wish one fast food chain would do the same for breakfast.....what a wonderful morning it would be!

People on Weight Watchers swear by them, but I've never bought them. Maybe I should give them a try.

LOL. I still mainly eat meat, but...has anyone tried a "tofurkey?" It's tofu flavored to resemble turkey and it tastes decent. My sister made it for my nephew's (now former, thank goodness ) GF last Thanksgiving. I had some of it, and it wasn't too bad.

Let's not get it twisted, lol, I LOVE meat. I'm just trying to introduce some alternatives to my pallet.

Morningstar Farms also makes EXCELLENT "chik'n patties." They are just like fried chicken patties, but made of soy protein. You can't make them in the microwave; you just stick them in the toaster oven till they're crispy. Put that on a bun with your toppings -- lettuce & tomato, honey mustard sauce, ketchup, whatever. It's a great meal and doesn't have all the saturated fat of real chicken patties.

My sister is a vegan, and she turned me on the Morning Star and the Boca Burgers, along wwith lots of other stuff (soy milk, tofu, etc.) some years ago...I love them, and am trying to wean myself off of meat completely (I still eat chicken, fish, turkey, and seafood, but I haven't eaten red meat or pork for over 9 years).
I really like the Boca Burgers, and well as Morning Star's hot wings...

When i saw this board i just HAAAAD to reply.
I absolutely LOVE boca burgers!!!! When I was at home in the US this summer, I ate them almost every day for lunch. I know most people on this board have said not to microwave them, but I still thought they tasted good in the microwave and maintained more of their juices. If you pair up the boca burger with a slice of the vegetarian cheese (can't remember the brand name, but its made out of soy instead of dairy and comes in individually wrapped slices, pepper jack is my favorite flavor) and some kc masterpiece BBQ sauce on a toasted wheat bun (or 2 slices of bread since I almost never had buns lol) then they are soooooo good. I don't know about plain microwaved boca burgers, but I know with cheese and bbq sauce they were sooooooooooo good.
mmmmmmmmm this is making me hungry! i miss boca burgers soooo much!! but they are $10 a box in China at the western supermarkets, and I refuuuuuuuuuuuse to pay that much, so I guess I'll have to wait until June.
Also, I saw someone say something about Chinese food on this board, so I just wanted to say this as a warning: vegetarianism is almost unheard of in China, and most Chinese dishes (at least in China) are NOT vegetarian, even if they seem to be. The same utensils/dishes/pots/pans are used to cook everything, and a lot of times there is meat flavoring in "vegetable" dishes, so just be careful when it comes to Chinese food.

I tried them...
I like Morningstar Farm's or Worthington Farm's...
Loma Linda's takes time to acquire the taste of theirs.
But my favorites are as I mentioned above.

Ok, after reading Ideal's post about Boca Burgers and seeing everyone's response I finally had to breakdown and buy some. I use to see these in the market all the time but would always pass by them. Well I got some yesterday, and I must say they were off the chain. I didn't read the post about not putting them in the microwave, and it still tasted very good. I'm not saying I will try all that soy stuff, but the burgers were fantastic.

I agree. The BK veggie burger is grotesque. Surprisingly, McDonald's veggie burger is so yummy. I eat them all the time.

It's taste like a Boca burger to me. Expensive though. The same price as a quarter pounder.
