Have y'all tried Boca???
A good friend of mine recommended Boca Burgers to me a while ago and I never tried them. Well, I decided to pick some up at the grocery store, along with some Boca Italian Sausages. I tried one of the Italian Sausages and MAN--it was the bomb!!! I think I'm going to be hooked!!! I haven't tried the Boca Burgers yet (I got Roasted Onion), but I bet they're just as good.
Have y'all had 'em? |
Don't Like 'em
I have tried them but I like Garden Burgers better..umm. My hubby loves Boca Burgers. He swears by them!!!
|
I am with you on the Boca burgers!
Thos things are great tasting AND full of fiber! |

Yes Boca burgers are the BOMB and with Weight Watchers they are only 1-2 points each.

not to crash your board... but.... I'm a vegetarian and I love boca burgers... get the cheesburger kind or the original kind and throw them on the grill or the George Foreman... put a piece of cheese on top and you can hardly tell they aren't real meat!!! don't put them in the microwave like it says you can in the box!!! they are disgusting!!!
|
You might also wanna try Morningside Farms, their veggie burgers are like that. They have breakfast patties (fake sausages) that are SOOOOOOOOO good. I'm nota vegetarian, and I love them. These and Garden Burgers are the best. Boca's are ok, but they have an odd twange. Morningstar has one called Grillers and Grillers Prime, taste like a burger, for real. Those and the Spicy Black Bean, are the best. You can substitute the Spicy Black Bean (not that spicy) in Mexican, and you wouldn't know the difference.

I have had Boca Burgers and they are pretty good but recentASAalum is right, they taste way better if you DO NOT put them in the microwave. Once you put all your garnishes and condiments on them they are great!
|
The burgers are good, but...
Have you guys tried the "corn dogs"? I think Morningstar makes them... They are yummy and no one would ever guess they're meatless. I eat meat, but it's something about the concept of regular hot dogs that I just CANNOT wrap my brain around. I don't do mystery meat!
Morningstar also makes really great "chicken wings"... They taste like chicken, and they are nice and spicy. I was a vegetarian for a year, so I investigated lots of meat substitutes... ;) |
Yeah, I forgot about the chicken wings. They are good too. Oh, and the pizza taste SOOOO real. Morningstar makes them too.

Been a Vegetarian for 7 years...
If you take the Boca's and lightly sautee them with some onions and the Hain's Vegetarian Brown sauce and add some rice or mashed potatoes, mmmm, mmmm good...
If you take Morningstar Farms (a Kellogg's company) round sausages, and take the firm tofu with fresh salsa and pico de gallo sauce, cilantro and Tofurella, both the cheddar and the mozzarella, you've got like a western omelette type of deal... Good breakfast in the morning. Too bad my husband is allergic to raw tomatoes... If you get the Veggitino's meatballs or Yves' meatball--you've got spaghetti and meatballs... If you grill the Gardenburger's Riblet---hmmmmm good... If you take the baked tofu and skewer it with fresh veggies... then grill it... If, if, if... I am getting good at adapting recipes... The thing is, all the Vegetarian faux meats are not truly vegan, until they specify. Yves, Loma Linda, Worthington Farms, Veggie (something) and Nature's (something) make vegan style foods. Some of the Chinese and Indian foods are vegan. And if you goto the Asian markets, they really sell the vegan vegetarian stuff. Morningstar, Boca and Gardenburger puts cheese, milk products and eggs in their vegetarian preps... But if you all don't have a problem with it, then hey... Welcome to the Veggie Delite World!!! |

I saw the Morningside stuff, but I missed the sausage pattie thingies. And I was looking for turkey sausage or something. I'm going to have to try those, too. |
