I saw the presentation last year at Iowa as an IFC/Panhellenic Eduational. I thought that it was a very moving presentation, and I have so much respect for Cooper as it must have been hard to lose a child, but to come forth and speak of her death must be pretty hard. Girls and guys came, from what I remember there were lots of poeple there.

She came and talked to Valparaiso University Greeks my senior year (Spring of 2002). It was an amazing presentation and I'm so glad that a number of the fraternities showed up to hear her story as well. Our school newspaper even covered the presentation and did a write-up on it that was featured that same week so others of the student population could learn a little more about what went on. After the presentation she went over to the Tri-Deltas chapter room and had a little reception that all were invited to (if I'm remembering that part correctly).

I heard Andrea Cooper speak back in 2000 I believe. It was an incredibly moving and emotional story. One of the best speakers that we have hosted at The University of Akron.

Someone asked if she only went to Universities and Colleges that have DDD and AXO.....she goes where ever she is invited. Akron doesn't have either chapter.....I would totally recommend hearing her story!

Does anyone one know who to contact to see about her coming to our campuses? I think she would be a great speaker to have out

Mrs. Cooper came to UNCG last spring to give her presentation. She is an amazing speaker--very articulate, very moving, and very VERY inspirational, if you can believe it when you think of her subject matter. Her presentation hit very close to home for us--the area around campus had been recently hit by a serial rapist, and as you can imagine, we've all been concerned.

And, you know, there were a lot of fraternity men present, and bless their southern gentleman hearts, they were the most appreciative and responsive audience members there (not to say we sorority women weren't!). I was proud of their respect and their heart. It really helped show what a great and beneficial presentation it was.

Kristens story broke my heart. I have tears streaming down my face.

I too have suffered from depression. It is hard and you feel alone.

I encourage everyone to pay attention to the signs of depression. Help your brothers or sisters if you see these symptoms.

Brianna, ain't that the truth! I suffer from depression and PTSD (Post Truamatic Stress Disorder) and I can relate.

Her story was heartbreaking.
As for the b*stard who did that to her, there is one word he should learn

KARMA!

I know too many women who have been raped, either by an acquaintance or a stranger. Personally, I would think that an acquaintance rape would be harder to handle, because not only has the woman been through a horrible ordeal, but she has to face the fact that she made a bad judgment in going out with the jerk in the first place. One of my pledge sisters was raped early in her sophmore year, by a football player she was dating. Yes, it was rape, not consensual; she also had a horrible pregnancy scare. She saw an attorney, but was advised against pressing charges. Her grades went down, and when she found a summer job, she decided not to come back to school.

The worst part is that the man who raped her is still very active in our school's community! I'm not going to say anymore, because I don't want to be sued, but I want to ask you all something: if someone told you that a friend had been raped by a certain man, would you have anything to do with him?

Statistically, one in every four women has been sexually molested or raped prior to the age of 18. Think about it: the chance of you knowing a woman who is that one in four is very good!

Kudos to Alpha Chi Omega and Tri Delta for bringing Kristin's story to light. Special hugs to her mother for raising a gentle, sensitive young lady, and being able to turn her personal crisis into a warning to all. My heart aches for the Kristins of this world.

Andrea came to speak at a Theta conference I attended in L.A. two years ago. Her presentation is absolutly amazing, and I am impressed with how she took something that had such a huge impact on her life and has used it to educate others.

What an AMAZING woman.

I got to see it at our 2000 Convention. If you get a chance to see it go. I think there is a schedule on the Tri Delta webpage.

There is; it's on the same page as that link which was posted earlier.

Kristin's mother is a brave woman.
