I'll never forget my 21st birthday...I spent it in the Lake District of England and the group I was with (I studied abroad that semester) went to a pub in the town we were staying and they had kareoke that night. I'll never forget one of the guys and one of the girls singing Love Shack, nor will I forget all of us girls singing I Will Survive (I need to go watch kareoke more often! )

The first time I tried to do kareoke was at a big party at the end of yearbook camp with some of the girls from my staff....we were going to sing Respect ~ Aretha Franklin and that will be my all time favorite kareoke time forever and ever (we never got to sing because the party ended before we were called )

I have never actually Karaoke-d. But if I did, I would love to sing, "Copacabana" (by the illustrious Barry Manilow).

Who Will Save Your Soul (Jewel)
Come to My Window (Melissa Etheridge)
My Favorite Mistake (Sheryl Crow)
anything Fleetwood Mac

since I seem to be the only one of my friends who ever gets up to sing, I usually end up doing whatever they would have done, if they weren't complete wusses.

My best (or perhaps worst...?) karaoke moment was doing "Baby Got Back" at the end of my sophomore year. I was transferring and never going there again -- what did I care?
People still never believe that I was completely sober at the time.

Someone should plan a GC event of going for some karaoke! That would be so awesome.

Anyway here are my usuals:
Forever - Ahn Jae Wook (Korean)
Make it Real - Jets
Looking Through Your Eyes - Leanne Rimes
From This Moment - Shania Twain
Truly, Madly, Deeply - Savage Garden
You Lost That Loving Feeling
Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now - Jefferson Starship
When You Say Nothing At All - Allison Krauss
Dancing Queen - ABBA

...and many more depending on what I'm in the mood for but the list above is the ones I frequent if the karaoke place has them

I did karaoke one time. That was probably the last time I'll do it too.

My choice was Lauryn Hill's X-Factor.

My faves are, in no order:

Criminal -- Fiona Apple
Take My Breath Away -- Berlin
La Isla Bonita -- Madonna
Walkin' After Midnight -- Patsy Cline
Shoop -- Salt-n-Pepa

Yes, I have very random taste in music.

I karaoke'd only one time in public. At Dave & Buster's in Philadelphia, about 8 years ago.

I went up with 2 other girls & we sang "Respect" by Aretha.

We brought the house down. Well, as far as I can remember.

I've only done it a few times, but my song is "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm" by Crash Test Dummies. I have a pretty deep voice, so it works out well. I also sang "Sweet Home Chicago" with a couple of friends, which was cool.

Cheesy early 90's are the best.... Bryan Adams, Meatloaf, Celine Dion, En Vogue, and the list goes on and on and on. So. Much. Fun.
