At Nu Beta a few years ago we initiated our House Mother, Miss Lucy, she was over 65 years old. She had gone to college but had never been in a sorority. Her daughter-in-law by marriage was an AOII and it only seemed fitting that we initiate her. She was so exciting to become part of AOII.

I think that is SO sweet, when the housemother becomes a sister! The last housemother my chapter was initiated - she was a housemother for something like 30 years!

Our chapter has a Mother/Daughter banquet near Mother's Day each May, and girls give their mother's pins then. Thats when I gave my mom hers a couple years ago. She absolutely LOVES it, and now, since my sister joins, she is already asking if she gets another one or not.
