A rush crush is a PNM that you just love to death, that you have to have in your chapter. Sometimes a rush crush can be a PNM that an active is considering making her lil sis.
I don't know about this "wish list" business. I have never heard this term before. It sounds like it's a pre rush bid list, but perhaps it's just a list of girls that they plan to target during rush.

I know a fraternity that has a wish list - it's guys that they would really like to sign. However, that doesn't mean they are going to sign everyone on it - it's just to give an idea so when a rushee is at their house and says "Hi, I'm Joe Jujubee" the brothers will think "OH! Joe Jujubee, from ACM that Billy Bob Brother put on the "list"." This same chapter asks sorority women for guys for their wish list - men that we think would make outstanding XYZ brothers.

it's NOT a bid list. I just want to clarify that so no one gets the wrong impression.

Ditto 33girl -Just because we've put someone on the list it in NO WAY means they get a bid. The list is open, not voted on and maintained by our rush chair. We make sure they get special invites to our events and we'll invite them to philanthropy stuff too. We try and do the 'coke date' stuff and get to know them. We have NOT given a bid to everyone who has been on that list. It just helps us concentrate on effective and quality recruitment. say you meet patti the PNM whose on the list, you are gonna remember her name and hopefully make an extra effort to talk to her or be polite. It really is a COB thing, i don't know how you'd do it during formal. or maybe that is kinda what recs are. i dunno.

We use the term "wish list" in the same way 33girl and Little E described -- girls that one or two Tri Delts know and think would make good sisters, but they need to meet more people in the house before we decide whether or not to extend them a bid. Basically, being on the wish list just means that we want to get to know you better. It has nothing to do with bids, at least not yet. (The "wish" part comes into play because the girl who puts her on the list "wishes" she will become a sister.)
In this particular chapter, it might also refer to the girls that individual sisters know who are coming through rush and really want to be a part of their chapter -- but just because one sister likes you doesn't mean you're guaranteed a bid. You have to impress the whole chapter before that happens.

33 girl, Little E, and sugar and spice:
Thanks for setting things straight with the Wish List business. My chapter uses it also. It really is a great recruitment tool and is part of one of our recruitment programs through our national. (side note my chapter got an award at convention for embarcing the program. hee hee gotta love it!)
We use it with a four step process. It works great for formal and informal because we all know we recruit 365 days a year!

Sounds kind of like a guy asking a girl for a phone number. He wants to talk to you to see if he's interested but he still reserves the right to decide you're a psycho that he can't introduce to his friends.
