My .02 on the Emmy nominations....
I think Sopranos is the most deserving of the HBO shows. That's probably because it's the only one I remotely care for! So I'm biased.
As for having a reality show category, I vote no. I'm hoping that the majority of those shows will eventuall die out and there won't be a need for such a category.
Here's who I hope wins....
Drama Series: The West Wing
Lead Actress in Drama: Alison Janney (please, anyone but Jennifer Garner!)
Lead Actor in Drama: Martin Sheen
Comedy Series: Friends
Lead Actor in Comedy: I don't really care for anyone in this category. I guess I'll go for Eric McCormack
Lead Actress In Comedy: Jennifer Aniston
Supporting Actor in Comedy: John Mahoney
Supporting Actress in Comedy: Megan Mullally
Supporting Actor in Drama: Bradley Whitford
Supporting Actress in Drama: Stockard Channing

I would have to agree that the Emmy's are getting slightly overrated. I LOVE the Gilmore Girls. The other shows that I watch are all on Sci Fi - those shows are award winning in the sci fi award shows, though! I do feel that some of the shows that are nominated are good, but have been around WAY too long (ie, Friends).

I did watch a bit of the nominations because I work for Lancome and wanted to see the gift that all the nominees are getting this year (good stuff).

Sure it was on this past season - Ralphie got his head chopped off! I think the last season finale was some time early this year? Last year's Emmy's didn't have any Soprano noms becuase it had been off for a while and it's season didn't hit in the nominating season window. I'd love for Michael Imperolni to win - I think he's great as Christopher!

I also love Monk and Tony Shaloub - so I'd like him to win.

What about Boomtown? My boyfriend and I watch that all the time and really like it. I was hoping good ol Donnie Whalberg might get something!!!

I forgot about Boomtown. I really like that show. The guys who play Fearless and David should have gotten nominations. And Donnie should have gotten something, just for being able to go from New Kid to serious actor.

Now that was a serious snub - Boomtown is an awesome show and should have definitely been nominated. The guy who plays Fearless is the same actor who was Bubba in "Forest Gump" (his name escapes me right now).

Mykelti Williamson. He's been in alot of stuff. The show should have been nominated too. All the critics like it. But that seems to be the theme with the nominations this year. All the newer critically acclaimed shows got left out.
