I remember seeing these at Ohio State. It's not something I could imagine living in, but hey, if you get used to it, it could be cool. I'd like the cold and the silence, but I'd KILL anyone who woke me up

I agree with Tom though, on many campuses the schools are upgrading their housing from traditional dorm-style to suites with amenities unheard of in the days I was in school such as suites, private baths, walk-in-closest (I saw this in a newly renovated dorm at Purdue). Many chapter houses are going to require millions of $$$ in renovation to be able to remain competitive.
That reminds me of the Ohio U Alpha Gam house. their closets are seriously bigger than their bedrooms, it's amazing.

Thumbs down

Dormers are out!!!

Young people these day, want Computors, sound systems, phone and all of the Bells and systems, ergo all of the plug ins!

We are planning a new House and are incorporating this into it along with suites!

Many of the Major Schools are going with this! Gang showers and toilets are on the way out!

Dormers were built to put more people to help cover costs! It aint cheap no more folks to go to college and be in a Greek org!

$$$$$ only go so far!!

For those that think We Buy our Friends, they can kiss my unwashed ASS! My guys all have part time jobs so they can be a member of a Greek Org! They want it that Bad!

At my house we have the "cold dorm", the "warm dorm" and some rooms with beds in them. The cold dorm is kept fairly cold in the winter and the warm dorm is smaller with the windows closed. I personally sleep in my room because I have a tendency to sleepwalk and talk loudly in my sleep. We have a wake-up system in place from the hours of 6AM-8AM so that there aren't fifty alarms going off between those hours. The girls who sleep in the cold dorm LOVE it! Most of the houses on campus have a cold dorm, I believe only one doesn't!
