It wasn't a season ender, but I liked the episode of ER when Carol went to Doug. The ending was perfect.

MASH and Cheers were great series finales, too.

Season finale - Friends, when Ross is marrying Emily and he says "I Ross take you Rachel". Also, Melrose, 2nd or 3rd season, when Kimberly comes back from the dead and whips off the wig with the HUGE gash scar on her head. 33girl, it should be coming up soon on Style network, if you have that. It's back on!!! God, that was the best show!!! Also, ER, when Dr. Greene died...cried like a baby.
That episode of ER was a GOOD episode!! It came on again a couple of days ago on the TNT channel.

THE BEST SERIES FINALE: Good Times!

The Evans Family (and Wilona and Penny) finally move out of the ghetto!

The Best Season Finale: Saturday Night Live when Will Farrell left the show. That episode had me rolling the whole 90 minutes.

Season finale: must agree with a few other posts saying Melrose Place when Kimberly took off her wig! I get creeps just thinking about it Also the Friends when Rachel had the baby and the whole ring thing with Joey and then you saw Ross coming up the elevator with flowers....

Series finale: I can't think of any

You and me both. It was a mind-blowing season finale until the last 2 minutes, which I still haven't recovered from. Both Alias season finales have been fantastic!

Murphy Brown season finales were always fun. My favorites were when Murphy found out she was pregnant with Avery and then the next season when Avery was born.

Besides M*A*S*H, I loved the Family Ties finale. We've still got it on videotape around here somewhere. I also loved the finale for "Little House on the Prairie" when they blew up the town. So, I'm a dork, I'll admit it!

I love Sports Night's "Quo Vadimius", which was written to work as either a season or series finale. Of course, after ABC and Aaron Sorkin were done with each other it was a series finale. I still miss Sports Night.

Amendment.

Winner, Best Series Finale: Still M*A*S*H, no contest.

Runner-up, Best Season Finale: Buffy, season two, "Becoming": Drucilla kills Kendra; Buffy's expelled from school; Buffy makes a deal with Spike; Joyce threatens to kick Buffy out; Willow restores Angel's soul; Buffy realizes that Angel's soul is back, kisses him, then kills him to stop an apoclypse; and Buffy leaves home while Sarah McLachlan's "Full of Grace" plays in the background and KKC weeps.

Winner, Best Season Finale: Buffy, season five, "The Gift": Buffy sacrifices herself to defeat Glory and save Dawn. It's one of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching moments of television I've seen. "Buffy, NO!" "Dawnie, I have to." Buffy voices-over while she's dying, "Tell Giles that I get it-- and I'm okay." Her friends see her lifeless body and fall to the ground... and KKC sobs.
