Hey BrownEyedGirl and CUSouthernBelle! I was in Clemson a couple of weeks ago and saw that they are doing renovations on the fraternity dorms. Are they making them more like houses or just renovating and keeping the same layout?
I had not been up there in several years and the campus seems sooooo weird without Johnstone! Much nicer, but still weird. I felt a bit of nostalgia for the ole Tin Cans.

Aren't sophomore frat memebers assigned to the dorms? My friend has always said how gross the frat dorms were. I really hope they are re-doing them. I knwo the "lake house" sleeps like 19 brothers.

From my understanding "the quad" is under a full-blown renovation. The quad is expected to be closed for two years while housing has provided off-campus apartments as a substitute for fraternity housing. It's going to be very strange during football season without all the action on that side of campus -- no place to sit and rest on the walk back to the east side of campus!
Mainly sophomore members live in the fraternity dorms, but that varies from chapter to chapter. Some of the larger fraternities occupy three floors of one building and either strongly encourage older brothers to live on the hall or they must allow independants to fill up the empty rooms.
Greeks are a little nervous about the atmosphere (or lack of) that this will cause in the fall without the strong presence of the fraternities on campus but honestly those poor boys deserve better living conditions! I have to say that I think this might help revatilize some of the fraternities because this will be one of the nicest/newest places for guys to live on campus.

Oh, I agree... that is going to be weird for football. I can honestly say that every saturday was spent at either a fraternity house... or on the quad [usually the quad]. But I hear they are all going to get tents and set up on the grassy-knoll [i heard that phrase somewhere.. lol] where Johnstone used to be. Which is cool... they'll all be there.
But that reminds me so much of their rush last year... in tents out on bowman... ya know what I'm saying?

Just thought I would give ya'll a little update on Clemson Recruitment -- Quota this year was 54. Everyone did an amazing job and is happy with their new girls! In my rush group alone, my girls went to six of the nine chapters on campus. Overall, recruitment was awesome and many girls were placed happily as a result.

Echoing the sentiment!
If you're uncomfortable posting this information, would you please post a website that would have it? Thank you!!

I'm not really sure if I am at liberty to say or not especially since I was a Pi Chi. Most made quota and those who didn't were close so everyone should be very pround! But I can tell you that my chapter, Alpha Chi did make quota!
