Chapter Mascot
I'm a Gamma Phi Beta at the Alpha Lambda Chapter (University of British Columbia), and our local mascot is still the Red Hot Tomatoes!
Our new website is: http://www.gammaphibeta.tk
The cheer we do the most is the
"Grunt! We're Gamma Phi Beeeeeeeeta!
Grunt! We're red hot tomatoes!
We get all the boys and we treat 'em like toys,
We're Gamma Phi Beeeeeeeeta! Grunt!"
The first Gamma Phi cheer I ever heard!

No mascot here, but our local colors are kelly green and navy blue.
Of course, I think we should have a cow mascot. Epsilon Moo.

Our local mascot here at Epsilon Lambda is the penguin, not sure why. Cute though, and lots of us have penguin pajamas and whatnot. Out local colors are pink and white.

curious
Interesting. I'm a Kappa and come from a school where NPC sororities have only been on campus since 1998 when all of the local sororities switched over to NPC ones all at once. We noted that the Gammas retained their local sorority's (which was simply Gamma Phi) colors (which I am unsure of, but one of them is purple) and mascot, the camel. This greatly confused me and a few of my sisters, for I guess it's the tendency to assume that every sorority has a mascot.
So am I to understand that it's very common practice for Gamma chapters to adopt their own mascots and sometimes colors? Also, is Gamma Phi Beta most commonly referred to as Gamma Phi B's, as I've heard? Everyone just calls them Gammas here.

Gamma Phi Beta does have an international mascot, it's the Gammie Bug, but I don't think that it is widely used. I didn't even know about it until the recent edition of our history book came out a couple years back. So a lot of chapters adopted their own.
As far as colors go, from my understanding a lot of sisters aren't too fond of using two shades of brown for several reasons. So they adopt a local set of colors (some are held over from locals prior to their international charter).
And about the nicknames, I've heard several....G Phi B, Gamma Phi, Gammas....I guess it just depends on what the individual chapters prefer.

The Beta Omega chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at Norther Arizona University have a cow as are mascot. We use it when we give gifts and there is a cow painted on are wall. The cow was chosen because the cow jumped over the moon (crescent moon). We enjoy our mascot!

we use the turtle for our local mascot. not sure why...the campus is near the Gulf of Mexico. i think they voted when the chapter colonized in 1998 and i heard it was between the ladybug and the turtle.
our local colors are red, white and blue. we have a "chapter shirt" that everyone gets as an intiation present. it's a normal letter shirt (sewn on letters) - the shirt is red, letters are blue with white outline. the chapter wears them at college preview days and during the first few weeks of school (well, not everyday) and more of the PNMs ask about the "red shirt sorority." it's cute that they remember us like that.

at zeta sigma (go cocks) we wern't really told why we were choosing local colors, but its probably so we would stand along with the other very grounded sororities here.
we chose pink and white as our local colors
and chose the flamingo as our mascot

Zeta Delta at Southeast Missouri State's local mascot is the carousel horse. We chose it because we are all unique and individuals, but we are all bound together by the same purpose moving in one direction. :-)
