When I returned to pick up my invites before Pref, my RX shuffled through papers for like two minutes. Then, she looked at me and said, "Wow! This has never happened before!" Yeah...that made me feel like a winner
See, I had been invited back by all the groups in the previous round, so I was required to drop one. That one was the ONLY one that invited me to Pref, so I was ineligible to attend their Pref ceremony or accept a snap bid.
The RX's remark truly humiliated me, and I felt embarrassed every time I passed her on campus. (I went to a really tiny school) I was so thankful when she graduated!
I wish she had at least said that this sort of thing happens every year, and I should continue to pursue membership. Instead, she embarrassed me, and then she just said "I'm sorry." And I left the room.
Yuck...awful experience. I'm so happy that I found the bonds of sisterhood as a graduate student. I love my Beta Sisters!!!!!
