They're called Euros. (Yes, like the money). They originated in Europe as a means of identifying nationality on a car: "GB" = Great Britain, "A" = Austria, "CH" = Switzerland (Helvatia), etc.

I have the good old crest with the letters in gold underneath of it on my side window (it's pretty small), and the license plate holder. I've seen the oval stickers in catalogs and such, but never at our greek store.

I have both my university and greek org spelled out on my car. They are both block letters in all caps. The PSS one is blue and gold, and the PSU one is green and white. They look great on my green honda! They look sort of like this:

I have my sorority's name spelled out (works better since I have two letters and non-greeks can't readily recognize the F.)
I used to go to NC State and LOVED it there, had a sticker with "NC STATE UNIVERSITY" spelled out -- and promply wrecked the car upon transferring to Virginia Commonwealth University.
NC State is the school I loved the most (VCU is great, though, and NCSU doesn't have a FM chapter.
I want to stick my school on my car -- should I go for NCSU or VCU? I'd rather do NC State but it seems a little..... confused? Since I've been here at VCU for a year already and got the car here and all.

I have a gold University of Iowa sticker with matching gold DZ in greek letters below it. I have also seen a lot of stickers with the sorority name spelled out in the sororities colors. DZ has one, but I didn't really like it because it didn't match my other sticker.

I love greek car decals
I was driving down the freeway the other day( gotta love So. Cal fwys...urrrgggghhhh!) And i saw a Black surburban with KKG letters, crest and it was spelled out. It was all centered on the back window and her UC Riverside decal in the corner. Looked all good and not overdone in a decal frenzy kind of way.
I lived in Oklahoma for a while and i went to the Univ of Arkansas and i seen a lot of front lic plates with greek letters or college mascot lic plates. Living in California we are required to have the same plate front and back.
I have on my car currently one little sticker that EO sent me and i have it on my front window by the car service sticker so i can see it daily. However, i have on my back window the Univ of Arkansas decal in the center bottom and am getting the APhi crest and greek letters and spelled out above the Arkansas decal.
I had in the corner and it is peeling off, a white minnie mouse decal but now that it is peeling so it is coming off soon.

I think the spelled out kind is most popular in central Ohio, too. My first greek sticker was that way in block letters.
Now I have my university spelled out in block letters and right below that I have my Phi Bet sticker. It's FB d then below that in small bold print it has Phi Beta spelled out.
I love the Euro stickers, but can't find anyplace that does Phi Beta (or locals, or professional GLOs, etc.) & didn't want to pay $20 to get one made. I also think the crest stickers are nice for more professional alumni.

Here at Mizzou most people have the stickers that spell out their GLO's and the letters are written in their colors or the white oval ones with their greek letters on them. I have the white oval one on my car, b/c my windows are tinted really dark so you wouldn't be able to see the other type of sticker since it goes on the inside. The other ones that are becoming really popular here are these stickers that are the GLO spelled out and written in an outline style of font....they're the kind of stickers that you put on the outside of your car and you have to remove 'em a special way. My friend Sam has that on hers and it looks pretty cool.....it's good for people who have dark tint....
It is crazy, it seems like every single greek person here has a car sticker, they are EVERYWHERE!

Here at A&M, a couple different stickers are popular.
The crest is the one that i have, and lots of other Greeks have. The simple letters in your colors are also popular too, especially amongst pledges that can't have crest items.
There are a few Euro decals around, although not many. License plate holders are alright too, although i see these being sported more by sorority women than the guys.
For the record, on my truck i have my Texas A&M sticker (soon to be replaced by my Former Students Association sticker in June WHOOP!!), my Sigma Nu crest, and my Corps of Cadets former Cadet Association Sticker. I also have a sticker of Ol' Sarge, one of our mascots pushing a lawnmower. I thought it was pretty funny, seeing as how i'm a Parks and Recreation major and had to get it.
