Waiting in line was the only annoying thing about the election. The touch screen was very easy to use. I noticed a trend at my polling station. Old white people. Not many young or minorities voting.

How many of you have touch screens vs. lever machines? My district uses the old-fashioned lever ones, but I wish we had touch screens... in my booth, the levers were slightly offset from the names, so I almost voted for the wrong candidate!

LOL @ carnation's "it's just like your microwave"

People under 65 were minorities where I voted today. LOL. There were only 3 college-aged people (all female) there besides me, and the rest were a few 30 & 40-somethings & TONS of 70-somethings. I didn't vote last year b/c I was out of county at college, but I came back to my town today to vote so that next yr I can get an absentee ballot.

Tennesseans---Vote PHIL BREDESEN for Governer!!! (sp?)
Van Hillary is a weasle and a shmuck!!! (lol)

I'm registered as an Indy (independant), but for before next fall I want to change to Democrat (haha won't my grandparents & aunts & uncles think I'm a NUT!?) They're all hard-core Republicans--- my uncle paid $$$$$$$$$$ to have dinners with both Bush Sr. & Bush Jr. before. Can we say... "yawn!" ???

Oh yeah, and we had the touch-screen things.... interesting. I still got a lil confused, though, because this is the first time I've voted.

Ohhhhh zntke, I wish I had seen your post earlier. Oxindine (sp?) has been taking MAJOR money from insurance lobbist and said it was "silly" when Cohen brought it up. For that reason alone I voted against him. Since when is conflict of interest silly??

But I'm still glad you voted. I did too!! BTW...regarding minority and young folks, do you think it was a function of the time of day or where you live? My precint had lots of young (20 somethings) and minorities. of course the fact that I live in a majority African American district probably had something to do with that one, but I was glad to see the younguns out in the rain no less!!

LOL--now that has got to be the funniest thing I've heard all day!

I'm going to our touch-screen center to vote after work tonight. Thank goodness the polls don't close until 8.

In PA- vote Rendell and Knoll!
We will FINALLY have a woman lieutenant governor, no matter if the dems or repubs when. Which is kind of sad in a way, PA's a little backwards.
If Rendell and Knoll (D) win (as they should, they've had a double digit lead the whole campaign), the first woman lt. gov. of PA will be Catherine Baker Knoll- who is also my third cousin! (my grandmother's first cousin- i think that makes her my 3rd cousin?). So I think that's pretty neat.

But if the Rep. win, Mike Fisher will be gov. His daughter is a KD, and is active in our alumnae association, also graduated from my law school two years ago and is working for a firm in Pittsburgh.

It's been a nasty gubernatorial battle in PA.....

Woohoo for Democrats!

I'm going to vote tonight between work and school. If I recall correctly, we have touch-screens.

I live in a fairly Republican area, and there are always groups of Republican candidates that attack you as you walk in to vote. When I voted in the primary this past spring, a whole bunch of them came up to me and gave me all of these pamphlets before they bothered to ask me what party I was affiliated with. When I told them I was a Democrat, one of them said, "Well, that was a waste." I told her that I was sorry she felt that way and that she just guaranteed that I wouldn't be voting for any Republicans this fall!

For Californian voters, The Governers race, Gray Davis (democrat)is the lesser of the 2 evils. Sure he's made us in debt and the energy crisis was a huge fiasco but I rather have him than Bill Simon. That guy just annoys me. And plus he's a shister. I am voting after work today and voting Democratic. Where I live, its a bunch of small town blue-blooders, so its mostly republican. I swear my family is the only people in my town that are not racist, blue blooder freaks........

Just got back from voting. Not many young people, but tons of minorities. I live in Queens, NY, though, we have a HUGE minority population. In fact, I had to follow signs in Chinese and Spanish to get to the door I needed!

Always makes me feel really good to vote, though. Definitely a privalige we should not take for granted.

Oh and we had the annoying levers. I'm always afraid I'm going to vote wrong...

Go, Carnation, and go, Mabel! That is hilarious! We have early voting where I live, so I voted a couple of weeks ago. My county leads the state in the percentage of early voters, which makes me proud. I voted a split ticket, too. I vote based on the issues.

I vote according to the issues, but I voted for Jeb. How else would I keep up with what George P. was up to? Just kidding! I love the Bush family, warts and all.
