Party: Registered as an independent. Am quite fiscally conservative. If we have to raise taxes, funnel them into public education and libraries. Knowledge is power.

Socially moderate. This may shock people -- I'm a reluctant pro-choice person, considering my love of babypeople. But I don't like abortions and would prefer the wider use of birth control. People are going to have sex. That Pandora's Box isn't being closed. So why not widen the availability of birth control?

Funny, but I am a registered Independent for these very reasons!

In addition, I feel that Blacks are being pimped by the Democrats and tokenized (is that a word?) by the Republicans.

I am registered as a Republican and I do not vote straight ticket.

I am not sure that there is any party that would be ideal because just when I think that the party I am leaning toward is doing the right thing, they kick me in the teeth and just when I think that another party's ideals are lining up with the same notions that I hold dear, they ignore the majority of their constituents' thoughts and they keep grasping onto the status quo. I just do the research for each individual line item and vote accordingly. If I were to be a Democrat, I would be the most conservative of Democrats.

Liberal, registered Democrat...

and active voter for the last 15 years. i love politics and make it my job to stay informed on the issues and the candidates. it bothers me that the Black voting rate is so low even though many of our people died in order for us to vote. i feel that it is my civic duty. personally, i'm a bit on the conservative side, however, i know that people are different and that in life, things aren't black and white.

side note: don't just talk about the problems. make your voice heard by voting!

Although I am a registered Democrat, I never straight vote the ticket. I vote for who I think is the best candidate, whether Republican, Democrat, Independant, or whatever.

I would defintiely consider myself Indemoblican (1/3 Independant, 1/3 Democrat , 1/3 Republican). Fiscally conservative on some issues and socially moderate on some issue too.

I have always voted in federal, state, and local elections.

I agree. I'm a registered Independent too.

Hey everyone
I actually think "partisan" loyalty is what is wrong with politics. Folks should vote ISSUE not PARTY....because whether folks want to hear it or not DEMOCRATS are just as crooked as the Republicans.

I would classify myself as a conservative.

Honeykiss, I like your term -- Indemoblican. I wonder if this is the cablinasian Tiger Woods' party?

This is my profession/industry so my comments are more circumspect, but I've always thought that politics was not so much about the issue of the day, but usually about the competing interests on either side(s) of the issue.

I've seen interest groups you would never think could work together join forces on something because they saw its passage/defeat as in their greater interest.

How do Republicans oppress people of color?

Do you have a problem with hard work?

Maybe you wouldn't be oppressed if you actually put in some hard work.

Well although I'm no Democrat...I'm going to step in and speak for a sec...

Your comments are COMPLETELY inappropriate. You don't know the person who posted this nor their perspective. Now I don't believe that Republicans oppress people of color either...but in order for people to listen to your opinion and not write you off and call you IGNORANT...you have to step to the forum with a bit more class than you are portraying.

One thing that makes this country so great is the fact that we can exchange ideas.. but MADMAX..lets be intelligent about it.

If you think my comments are completely inappropriate then why did you agree with some of my comments?

THe last part is what i have a problem with. You are PREjudging this person...how can you tell someone they need to work harder and they wouldn't be oppressed? Do you know this person? I'm simply saying that people will tune you out...even if you do have a valid point...when you resort to such a personal attack. It is possible to agree with some, but not all of a post.
