Ok, so i'd been pretty proud of myself since i'd done a good job of avioding getting into this whole Harry Potter thing. That stuff's for kids, i said.

Well, i'm 4 days into my christmas "vacation" to south dakota, bored off of my mind, and pick up my mom's copy of "The Sorcerer's Stone". Now i haven't slept the past 2 nights because i've been working my way through the 4 books that she has.

I'm starting Goblet of Fire tonight......god i can't wait to get back to Texas.

Oh yeah, and i'm a.....

just like my bud KappaT

Harry Potter and all his buds go to the Hogwarts school for Wizardry. Once they get there as first-years, they are separated into different houses....i.e. fraternities or sororites( how i rationalized it to myself)

anyhow, there's four of them Grffyndor, Slytherin, HufflePuff, and Ravenclaw(god i KNOW i spelled some of those wrong). Anyhow, supposedly you are sorted according to your talents. Just be glad you're not Slytherin, they're all up to no good

AggieSigmaNu,

Thanks for the clarification!!! I never got caught up in the Harry Potter thing, so I had no idea what any of this meant.

BTW, I really like your analogy of the different houses like fraternities & sororities, that is cute!

My older sis just graduated from A&M, and she was right, the Aggies are some of the nicest people on earth

Richard Harris was in Harry Potter.
Ian McKellan was in Lord of the Rings.
Two different actors entirely, although, yes, they do look similar (especially with all the beard on and what not).

From the Sorting Hat song:

"You might belong in Gryffindor
Where dwell the brave at heart.
Their daring, nerve and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart

You might belong in Hufflepuff
Where they are just and loyal
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
and unafraid of toil

Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw
If you've a ready mind
Where those of wit and learning
Will always find their kind

Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends
Those cunning folk use any means
To achieve their ends"

I am 51% Ravenclaw and 49% Slytherin. Don't push it.

How pathetic am I? I also went through the part of the site where you get a wand. Mine's cedar and dragon heartstring, 13 inches.

I loved the Harry Potter books. I can't wait until the 5th book comes out. The 2nd movie was just as good as the 1st. I heard that the guy from Lord of the Rings is going to play Dumbledore in the 3rd movie. Not sure about that though.

OMG I think you all just made my morning!!

I am SOOOOOOOO glad that I am not the only person above the age of 10 who went to that site and got sorted!!!

I am a very happy Gryffindor!!!

I am Harry Potter obsesed.....
I saw the 2nd movie on opening night with my lil sis and was there an hour before to get in the line to get good seats...
I then took my two real lil sisters ( ages 9 and 12) to see it...i dont think they liked it as much as me...
and then for the 3rd time I persuaded my boyfriend to go see it with me...that was a mission in a half!!!!!...geesh you would think that him being a LOTR fan he would have an appreciation for things containing imagination etc. but NOPE...he laughed at it..whatever it was an accomplishment just to get him there...
only clause in this agreement was I had to go see the new LOTR...it was ok but still not as great as Harry Potter..

As for there being a REAL hogwarts.....I would sign up in a heart beat.....I think it would be amazing...
I heard a rumor that at the train station where they filmed parts for the movies kids would go up to platforms 9 and 10 and try to walk in between or take pictures etc. so they put a sign that says "platform 9 3/4"
LOL not sure if thats true but its sounds cute

With any hope the next HP book will be out soon..im only too excited to see whats in store for the next year at Hogwarts
