Good choice TV can be taped, but Buffett in person is priceless.
Its been waaaay too long since I've seen him in person - last time was in April at Jazzfest.

Our TV went out like five minutes before it started so we went next door to watch it, and I was disapointed... Everything that seems like it is always going so good gets interupted because someone will feel bad or something. Grr... someone marry Rachel already, we know you both love her...

Season Premiere Summary
*** Caution: Don't Read If You Taped It And Don't Want To Know Yet ***
Okay...they re-caped the last scenes where Joey had the ring and Ross walked in. Then Joey jumped up and made an excuse to leave, but everyone else came in. Ross was like, "Rachel I have to tell you something later"...she said "I do too" ...Joey said the same thing to her, and then Phoebe was like, "And Monica, I need to talk to you too." Monica was like, "About what?" and Phoebe says, "To see if you know what these people are talking about."
Monica and Chandler are still trying to get pregnant so they return to the Janitor's closet for another go. This time her dad walks by and tells Joey and Ross, "I think people are having sex in there!" He decides to take a peek and is horrified to see Monica and Chandler. They come out and then there is an embarrasing scene where they explain that they're trying to conceive and he starts talking to them about sexual positions.
Meanwhile, Phoebe goes in to see Rachel and Rachel reveals that she thinks she just got engaged. Phoebe, assuming it was to Ross, is elated and tells Rachel she is the one that convinced "him." Rachel is unsure and Phoebe tells her everyone thinks it is for the best. Rachel asks, "Even Ross?" and Phoebe, still in the dark, replies "Umm, especially Ross!" When Phoebe leaves, Rachel decides to try on the ring, which Joey has put back in Ross's coat.
Joey catches up to Chandler and tries to explain what happened with Rachel and get some advice. Chandler tells him to go talk to Rachel and clear things up before Ross finds out. When Joey goes to Rachels room to explain, the nurse brings Emma in to breast feed. The baby doesn't want to nurse and Rachel begins asking Joey, who is trying painfully not to look, what is wrong with her breasts. He runs out of the room.
Phoebe runs into Ross and congratulates him. He says he didn't propose. They go to Rachel's room and she is sleeping but she still has the ring on her finger. Ross is very confused.
Later on, Monica goes in to see Rachel and Rachel tells her about Joey's proposal. Monica says, "You can't marry him! You just had Ross's baby!" Monica sees the ring and says, "Omigod, it's bigger than mine!" Rachel, thinking it is Joey's, replies, "I know, Days of Our Lives!" Monica asks her whether she really wants to marry Joey and Rachel ends up admitting that she doesn't. She was just didn't want to go through it all alone.
Ross comes in to see Rachel and tells her that he didn't propose. Confused, she answers that she knows he didn't but that Joey did. He thinks she's still delerious and says "I didn't propose to you, Joey didn't propose to you, and Chandler didn't propose to you." When she's tells him again that Joey proposed, Joey walks in as Ross is saying, "Joey proposed to you?!?" Joey tries to explain that it was a mistake, that he never actually asked her and never gave her the ring. They go back and forth with "No I didn't" and "Yes you did" until Rachel finally says, "Omigod, no you didn't!" Joey says Ross was the one who meant to propose and Ross says that he wasn't going to but that he did want to start dating again. Joey snaps at him and says, "Oh yeah, because when I have a baby with a woman, I like to slow things down." After apologies, Joey leaves. Ross, noticing the ring again, says, "Wait, when Joey proposed to you, you said yes?" Rachel pauses and then just says, "what?", like she didn't understand. Ross says that although it's a huge step down from marriage, he does want to be with her. They agree to start dating again.
Side note: I was kind of disappointed that there was no mention of Phoebe's cute hospital guy. Last season, they made it seem like he would be returning. Maybe next episode.

Ok, have to post my chapter's prediction for the series finale:
joey get offered an acting job in california. ross and rachel get married, and monica is pregnant, and goes into labor during hte wedding ceremony. everyone rushes to the hopsital, where monica has her baby, and ross and rachel finish the marriage ceremony with joey officiating. joey then has to tell them all that he is accepting the job in Cal. and phoebe announces her engagement to the cute hospital guy.
Sorry, for the long explanation.....you can't phrase that perdiction in one sentence or less

I agree, it was kind of anti-climactic. The stuff with Chandler and Monica and her dad was hysterical, though. I am still looking forward to the rest of the season, though!
BTW, did anyone watch ER? That was awesome!

It was an excellent episode of ER last night. I almost got sick during that helicopter scene though. I'm use to blood and gore on ER, but that was some of the most graphic footage that I can ever remember seeing on the show.
btw: Friends was good, but didn't live up to my summer expectations. I'm sure it will get better as the season progresses, though -- it always does!

I can already tell that this season will drag out the whole Rachel and Ross thing. I was hoping they'd just get it out of the way and get engaged yesterday, but that prob won't happen for awhile.
It'll be neat to see what's in store though..............

I was a little dissapointed last night because it dragged on with nothing really major happening, but i thought that would happen.
However, I am glad Friends is back on!!

I thought Friends and Will & Grace were pretty boring. It's all baby this, baby that. As soon as a show becomes all about babies, it's all downhill (Mad About You, anyone?)... Why does everyone need to be so obsessed with babies???
OUlioness, I bet your predictions are right on -- and I think it's sad that the show is probably actually that darn predictable.
Oh well. I always liked Survivor better anyway.

Awesome reason to miss "Friends." Have a margarita!!
That episode was funny but sort of pointless. We want to know what happens already! There isn't much time left for Ross and Rachel to fall madly in love again and for us to see Emma magically age 5 years. They better hustle, lots to do in their last season.
