Exclamation Colors

If you are from a local or (especially) an ethnic GLO, you would be wise to check with the actives. Most ethnic GLO members NEVER, EVER, EVER wear paraphanelia that is not in the official colors. For some it is an official rule.

I was in no way insulting the 80s, nor was I implying that pink and green do not match.

However, when the neon pink & green shirt in question is on your advisor, who is sporting some fabulous Madonna-esque big 80s hair in the photo... you're gonna laugh.

Sky & Sea rule! Even Kate Spade thinks so. Of course she does-- she's my sister! She designed a blue & blue bag. It's cute.

By the way, I have hunter green and navy blue plaid letters on a white shirt, and I think they look nice.
I remember rushing for AGD and seeing the red, yellow, and green. At that time, I didn't know what "buff" was. And at the same time I thought..."Jaaaaah....RASTAFARI!"... I was kind of unsure about sporting the traditional colors of reggae.

I love my sorority's colors and I cherish their meanings, but I do have my letters in almost every color [even in that yucky teal tank that's collecting dust in my closet].

Speaking of rush colors:

My first impression of Delta Gamma was "Hello baby shower!" EVERYTHING was light pink and blue. (Sorry, Delta Gammas, but it was a little much at this rush party!)

As for 1980s DZ, I was looking through old yearbooks and saw one of their rush lines: white capri pants with canvas sneakers and pink jerseys. Right before I was a pledge, the tradition was to make one pledge class have green jerseys and the other have pink. Finally, someone revolted so that all the jerseys were green. Good for me because I'm not really a fan of pink.

I'm sure that some day, girls will be looking at the 2002 yearbook and think that we were wearing some funny stuff, too.

As for prints, there is turtle prints out there for letters. You just have to look. Best bet for cool stuff: QUILT SHOPS!

I love my pink & green!

Maybe it takes some practice to find out exactly which pink and which green look good together, but I think they look beautiful together. My sorors are on point with their colors.

A flower couldn't choose a better set of colors to be.

THE DREADED BUTT-BOW!!! My poor bridesmaids were forced to wear big ole butt-bows at my wedding. I'm so, so, so, so, so sorry girls. Amazingly, I'm still friends with them after that.

Thanks for all the info!!! I rushed the sorority to make new friends and to have fun, not for the colors. But, just b/c i'm apart of the sorority does not mean I have to love the colors!!!! I'm just use to bright colors b/c every school I have been too have had good colors. So, to go from that to some dead colors, it will be a transition, but im happy to know that I can just use the basic colors of the group and add in different color letters. That's cool!!!!

Alpha Theta Chi's colors are navy, hunter green, and maroon. Because we have three colors we are able to mix and match with a lot of different fabrics. We do not have to stick to our three colors. I recently made a leopard print lettered shirt for two of my sisters.

If you look at the following link you will see that my sisters have many different tastes.

Kappakittycat, hope you know I was only teasing! I just tend to hold the '80s close to my heart. And I also hope Kate Spade gives Kappas a discount!
Kilarneyrose, I think your wedding sounded great...I've been a bridesmaid 11 times...I had to wear a medieval princess outift for one of them (pointy hat with flowing scarf attached) so a bow doesn't sounds so bad to me.

First off, this is my 600th post, yeah!

Okay, anyways, as for AGD's colors being red, buff and green, I noticed the other day the the awning around Taco Bell is red, yellow and green, so needless to say, I now have a reason to eat there even more than the Chalupas!

hehehe, I always tried to convince our social chairs that we should have a reggae mixer, but it never happened.

Okay, I think I'm alone in my adoration of pink. Does that really mean I'm hopelessly 80s??? I think the Phi Mu colors are fabu!
Sigh...at least I don't have 80s hair!

However, I think that navy and hunter green are beautiful! You can get a beautiful set of letters in black watch plaid...very nice.

Let us know what you buy!

I still love pink, and I still love the 1980's! I think that I will go rent "Pretty in Pink" tonight! lol!

Of course, I prefer royal purple and pure gold, the lovely purple iris, and the unicorn.
