I agree with what has been said. At first I was commending him on coming out (and didn't care about the affair because unfortunately that is prominent with political officials) and didn't think he should have resigned.

Now I realize it was just a political move because he knew ole dude was going to expose him. So he took the offense hoping that folx would respond like I did and the boyfriend wouldn't come forth with the allegations. That's probably why he gave 3 months notice to give time for people (especially the gay community) to rally around him. But dude did anyway and now his plan has backfired.

So, I have to agree with the Republicans on this one--go on and step down now.

The thing is it seemed like he was using his coming-out as a cover for the real problems with his administration. To me that's reprehensible.

I don't have a problem with him being gay - gay, straight or otherwise, if someone is doing a good job I'll support them. However I do have a problem with some of the details that are coming out about how he acted as Governor.
