I say sneakers. Most people that I know were born and raised down here (south florida) say the same thing. I have never heard anyone call them tennis shoes.
For a hot minute (back in high school) I used to call them kicks.

I'm from Philly and we call them sneakers or sneaks for short. But, since I have come down south for school (Florida) I have heard people calling those cheap little, no-name sneakers like KEDS "white girls." Has anyone else heard this? We always called them bo-bo's.

Well, I am from FL and I called them Bo-Bo's too. this white girls thing is new to me too! LOL Remember, a lot of people come down here for school, especially if you are in Tally, so maybe that originated somewhere else.

Tennis shoes. But I can't stand when people pronounce it "teny shoes" or "tennys"
|

I call them sneakers and keds or no name sneakers are known as bo-bo's.
Does anyone say the little bo-bo's rhyme: bo-bo's they make your feet feel fine, bo-bo's they cost a $1.49, bo-bo's etc......?

We call off brand shoes "buddies", "skips", "white girls".
My son came in the other day singing this song:
Payless shoes ain't got no grip
You will fall and bust your lip.
Of course I told them better.
