I am all about taking good care of legacies. And sometimes that means dropping them.

If I had pledged my sister's sorority at my school, it would have been a bad fit. We all knew it, and I was released after second round. I was relieved!

My roommate's entire family were all in the same sorority and that sorority released her right before prefs.

While it sucks to not get your legacy house, it's better to end up somewhere that wants you for you and not one that chose you out of a sense of duty.

Give them the benefit of the doubt, yes. But don't string them along.

I think ALL legacies should be given a courtesy invitation to the first invitational round and due consideration given when cut. That respects their special status and the chapter's need to select women who have a good fit for them. I don't like to hear of legacies not given a courtesy round, unless they don't have grades or have a felony conviction. It doesn't kill a chapter to give a legacy one round to impress.
