I agree! I actually think there is a slip there, but it's much shorter than the dress...otherwise one would be able to see the model's undergarments. I'm not a big fan of that look, personally. I think slips should be an appropriate length for the dress or perhaps a hair shorter than the dress.

I just pulled the image off of sororitysugar without examining it too closely, but you're completely right that that dress does look odd.

Thank you all for your thoughts!! I think I will end up doing physical shopping for a dress...just trying to get an idea of what I'm looking for before hand.
