Additionally, you can "like" Auburn Panhellenic on Facebook and see photos too!

Auburn panhellenic is posting daily updates here
One of the things I liked was the description of PNMs ranking after round 1 not "cutting"

My DD2 is a IIX (Pi Chi/ recruitment counselor). This morning, after round one, she had her first PNM withdraw. DD said this was a lovely young woman who would have made a positive contribution to any sorority. The PNM had (more than) several second round invitations, but in her eyes, none to her "favorites". How can we, as alumni, stress any further, the importance of keeping an open mind and letting the process work. It seems like this situation can be worse with some instate/local girls who come in with very specific ideas of the specific houses they "are rushing."

That's sad. I thank goodness my OOS, no legacy, no clue daughter had no preconceived notions about any chapter and just went with the flow rough as it was at times. And even better that I had no clue and couldn't influence her decisions. There are so many great girls in every house and it just seems a shame to walk away so early on because THE HOUSE didn't invite you back.
Sometimes it pays to be clueless OOSers.

We do our best to do that with our alum panhellenic, during our spring tea.
But some girls just think they HAVE to have a choice among certain houses, and feel that other certain houses are "beneath" them.
They're the ones who, 2 weeks later, wish they had stuck with it.
It's not nearly as bad as it used to be at Auburn. Before RFM, the "big" popular groups would keep everyone for second round. Then for skit, TREMENDOUS cuts, with girls dropping out of recruitment by the dozens.

Yes, I think one of the best, and most direct explanations I've ever seen.

Pref Night Primer
This was posted via their Facebook, wanted to share it for any PNMs who are confused about the MRABA after your last pref party:
https://fp.auburn.edu/greek/Files/PrefDayPrimer13.pdf
It does a great job of explaining all of the terminology and possible outcomes dependant on how many parties you attend.

They mention several times about being able to write in additional chapters at which they didn't attend preference parties. I'm sure the RFM specialist is thrilled to be able to direct a snap toward a different chapter, should the need arise. But I'm wondering if this ever works out for a girl. And is this done at many/most/all schools that use RFM?

I'm interested that the PDF specifically states that PNMs are not allowed to talk to their Pi Chis on Pref Night until they have turned in their lists. I've known several women who, if it weren't for their Pi Chis helping them to pull themselves together emotionally prior to ranking, might have withdrawn or SIPed that night.

My dd said this is how it was after prefs at UGA as well and a friend had told me that if there was anything I wanted to tell her via text I'd better do it before her last pref party as they were discouraged from looking at their phones on the way to completing their bid cards. So hard......

Looks like they'll hand out bids inside and block parents from entering! AU must have had some incidents in the past to do that.
