Judge Seals File in Sex Abuse Case
A Fulton County judge this week decided to keep sealed a file about a sexual abuse case. Last June, Arthur James Robinson, 65, pleaded guilty to child molestation and aggravated sexual assault in exchange for 10 years of probation. Superior Court Judge Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore, who took the plea, said Robinson didn't get preferential treatment because he is the husband of Johnnetta Cole, former president of Spelman College. She said the victim's family did not want to put their 12-year-old daughter through the trauma of a trial. The family has requested the court file be sealed. Moore said she is keeping it sealed while lawyers try to determine a way to protect the victim's identity, whom the judge described as still traumatized. Defense lawyer Drew Findling said his client got probation because he contacted the state Division of Family and Children Services and the police after the molestation, made a statement and got into counseling. The district attorney's investigation supported his client's position that the molestation was a one-time act, Findling said.

This sounds really strange. Is it possible he can be in the early stages of Alzheimers or some other mental illness?

Well initally it was viewable from an ajc link but as the day changed so did the info on the link. Luckily the young lady that writes our DC Alumnae biweekly e-mail newsletter had a copy of it. So when she sent out the most recent report the article was included and that's where I copied it from.

to the non believers........
This story is indeed true. I have personally read this article and so have alot of my Sorors. SPELGRAD, no need to check your sources..but you were a good one for doing so. Some people think that "our" people can do no wrong. We should be praying for the victim, for she is the one that has been affected the greatest.

I’ve always believed that you never know what you’re going to do until you’re put in a situation. But I KNOW I’d be out! Not only did he break his vows but also do you really know this person (regardless of how many years together) if they’re capable of doing something so sick and perverted? I would constantly doubt his actions, motives, sincerity… not to mention a rack of other stuff. To me, marriage is more about trust than it is love. How could you ever trust him again with your heart, your life or around children… even yours? This isn’t just infidelity… he took the innocence from child and emotionally scarred her FOREVER. He doesn’t deserve to have his life in tact with a loving supportive wife and only on probation! He needs to be in jail learning what it’s like to be taken advantaged of by big Raekwon and his crew.
