Sigma Kappa was founded at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Sadly, our original chapter no longer exists because Colby College let their greek system go. I am not sure when or why that happended.

Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded on April 20, 1898 at Longwood College in Farmville, VA. Part of the Farmville Four, our Alpha chapter is the longest continous NPC sorority presence on the campus. Our Alpha chapter will celebrate it's 103rd anniversary next month!

Dear KappaGirl2--

Gotta get this stuff right, girl! Monmouth College is alive and well in Monmouth, Illinois (which is about 180 miles west of Chicago.)

The Alpha Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded at Monmouth College in 1870, and still exists (and is flourishing!)today.

As carnation noted, Pi Beta Phi was also founded at Monmouth College (in Illinois), and that is why you commonly hear Kappa and Pi Phi referred to as "the Monmouth Duo," much like the Miami Triad of fraternities.

The Alpha Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha is still in existence. When ZTA was joining the NPC, all our chapters had to be at 4-year colleges and universities. At the time, Longwood College in Farmville, VA was still a 2-year teacher's college. Our Alpha chapter relinquished it's charter for the benefit of the Fraternity and recolonized in 1949 when Longwood became 4-year accredited.

I know that Sigma Kappa's Alpha chapter is long-since closed. There are no Greeks allowed (at all) on the Colby College Campus.

Kappa Sigma's first chapter, Zeta, founded Dec 10 1869 at the University of Virginia, is still alive and strong - our International Memorial Headquarters is even located nearby.

That chapter room is AWESOME - I guess you saw the pictures in THE LYRE too !

One of our sisters included the Alpha Chapter in her will which allowed them to recently purchase a beautiful crest that is the size of the wall with lights shining on it -- it is BEAUTIFUL! Oh I wish we had a house here! A dorm room just isn't the same!

This is also true w/ DST.

Our Alpha chapter is on the campus of Howard University in Washington DC. Our national headquarters is also in Washington DC. In fact, there is a tour of our headquarters on our official website at http://www.deltasigmatheta.org/tourtc.htm .

Unfortunely, Williams College got rid of Greek Life, so the first chapter of Delta Upsilon no longer exists.
