When people come on here for COB party ideas, they need to be directed here. Those are FANTASTIC, really creative ideas, with really good "get to know you" opportunities.

The USC KKG facebook page has an album from bid day, and the pictures are ADORABLE. I don't get why collegians keep trying to bring back the fanny pack, but they're clearly having fun in the process!

I think when that is the only way you recruit, you know how to do really do it well!

@ Mamagreek- Where did your daughter pledge? You never told us which house she ended up at!
And WOW!
All the talk about DG not getting very many and NO ONE says anything about Kappa? Can somebody confirm that one?

I don't feel comfortable saying which house my daughter pledged, but I am happy to report she is THRILLED!!! And Mamagreek is happy because Babygreek is happy!
The word on the street is that Kappa and DG had the highest returns but were also required to make the biggest releases based on the whole RFM process. At the end of recruitment, that is how it played out and that is the size of their pledge classes. That is NOTHING official and I'm sure no one will ever say whether that's true or false because return rates and release figures are confidential. Apparently, their chapter sizes are still among the biggest on the row notwithstanding their PCs are among the smallest.

Those COB events sound like so much fun! The puppies in the park idea is a home run.

If KKG is a more popular sorority, they can most likely easily COB up to quota (with girls who did or didn't go through formal rush). This is what would be called a "teachable moment" where RFM is concerned.
Were all the groups who had numbers over quota at total when rush started, or is that all QAs??

I agree. I think there is a point of diminishing return with RFM and finding the exact point where the cuts go from healthy to harsh is that mystical answer that I'm sure the RFM specialists are always seeking. Sometimes you're gonna miss. I have tried to change my thinking where if a chapter is off by 10%, they didn't fail, it was just an RFM thing, and they'll be able to make up the numbers easily. If they want. Missing by 4 or 5 may not be reason enough to keep up the stress level for another couple weeks, especially if you're still technically at chapter total.

We have our largest pledge class since I joined (if not ever, I'm not sure), and we will continue adding to it through COB!

I totally agree with you on this. The problem is the other Chapters use it as ammunition to spread the word that you had a bad recruitment because you didn't make quota. Not making quota = not successful recruitment on many campuses.
On my own campus I went up to the office 2 times about our recommended releases into preference only to be told we would be fine. I predicted we would miss quota by 10 and we missed by 9. Did we have a successful recruitment? You bet! the girls and the Advisors could not be happier with the quality of women that we took. I will bet you $100 that there will be groups spreading the word how they did it right and we did it wrong. Happened last year to us too.
On a side note, if our flex list had been longer we probably would have been ok and flex list doesn't hurt any one in the process because they are not taken off or put back on unless you need it.
