So funny...

It's so funny that this topic was started...I'm known for being early and I hate it when I'm late because of someone else.

Just last night I was late to step practice (7 minutes late) because I had to wait on one of my ls to get to my place to ride with me. When we finally got there, my other ls smiled at me when I arrived and said "I was looking for your truck when I got here and when I didn't see it I figured you weren't coming to practice because you are NEVER late!" Of course the ls that rode with me 'fessed up and said "it was my fault, I made her late!"

People who know me know I HATE being late to anything!

I may be on time, I may be really late--you never know! This is b/c for some things, such as class, I don't find it important for me to be there on time. I know this is a bad quality to have and therefore it has gotten better over the years. However, I know that in the "real world" that WILL NOT cut it, which is why I am slowly improving it...

Some people, such as my mother (who is notorious for being "Early") and friends of mine WILL leave me, therefore b/c I know this I make every effort to be on time...But in my defense, many times it is not my fault!! But that doesn't matter--I guess it's like the boy who cries "wolf"...

My family members and friends KNOW this about me, therefore they tell me "wrong" times for events. For instance, if I am supposed to be going to a party with my girls, they will tell me "We are leaving at 10pm" when in reality we leave at 10:30, 10:45, or even 11pm!! Sometimes I hate that they do this to me b/c, as I stated earlier, I may be on time and end up waiting on them, but I know it's my own fault...

I AGREE with everything you just said.

MY work hours are supposed to be 8:30-5:00 but the office KNOWS not to expect me before 8:45 and I REALLY try to be on time I really do. I am on time for SORORITY business, church, and funerals. I am also on time for scheduled meetings.

Professional: Early preferably. If I'm walking in the door "on time" I usually feel guilty.

Socially: LATE! I guess because my committment is not that great for social functions... I need to work on that...

I'm generally a timely person, if it was just up to me. But I have a perpetually late husband that seems to not know the value of time. I have to start nagging him at least an hour and a half before our designated departure time because it takes him a long time to get ready. Still, I have had to leave him a couple of times to make it to church on time (he will show up about 20 - 30 minutes later), but I am usually more lenient w/ social functions, although it pains me to be.

The other monkey wrench in my timely program is a 3 year old child known as my daughter. No matter how much time I seem to allot to get us ready and there on time, we still end up late. There always seems to be some drama (can't find her shoes, can't find her shoestrings, I want to wear jeans, I want another pancake, take her shoes and sock off in the car, I want some juice, and the list goes on). She has not learned the value of time just yet, but I'm working on it.

As for your husband, he may start to get the picture after you continue leaving him...But for the child, SHE'S ONLY THREE!! It ain't really her fault, therfore, it's not your fault either!!
