They call people. For instance, the city that I live in has several high schools in it, so it would be impossible for a sponsorship chairman to know every girl at every school... but she could call me about girls who attend the school where I teach, and I might be able to help out there. It's all about getting in touch with people to find people who know the PNMs so that we can have a rec on file for every possible PNM.

NETWORK!!!!!!!!!!!! Frankly, here where we've been doing this since the dawn of time, we have a chair for each high school in large towns. So, say you need one on a girl from my suburb (we have 1 high school). I don't know her. But I know lots of folks here so I call a buddy whose judgment I respect and who has kids in HS, ask if she knows Susie Snowflake and ther you go. I call my friend the HS English teacher, the football coach,etc, etc.
We get the info the same way we tell PNMs to network for a rec. Ask everyone we know who is likely to know the person.

It's pretty daunting when you look at the numbers at Alabama, Auburn, etc. We probably get requests for about 400-500 women in the Birmingham area alone from all schools. We just couldn't do it without a system in place!
