Landslide-Fleetwood Mac
Crash-DMB
Taking Care of Business-BTO

Top 10

Kind a hard to limit it to just 10… so since I’m bi-polar I’ll list “both” selections

Dark Mood/Chilling:
“Mad World” – Gary Jules (song is surreal view of the world – and that’s how I see the world some days)
“Morphine” – The Night (good blues/jazz fashion)
“Ohio” – Dandy Warhols (dark cover of Neil Young’s song)
“Famous Blue Raincoat” – Hayden (cover of a good Leonard Cohen song)
“Strange Days” – Matthew Good Band
“On the Turning Away” – Pink Floyd (brings up halcyon memories of my teens at the cottage)
“Golden Age” – Beck (great chill-out song)
“Mother” – Blind Melon (rare but good)
“Fiddler’s Green” – The Tragically Hip (or Stereophonics cover either is great)
“Old Man” – Neil Young (loved his dad’s books as a kid)

Good Mood/Partying
“Diamonds on the Inside” – Ben Harper (reminds me fondly of an ex)
“House of the Rising Sun” – The Animals (Little Red Riding Hood is also a another fun one)
“Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead” – Crash Test Dummies (fun song, and the girl does a good job singing)
“Kiss Me, I’m Shitfaced” – Dropkick Murphys (great drunk at the bar song)
“Drunken Lullabies” – Flogging Molly (good song, good message)
“Ramble On” – Led Zeppelin
“Whiskey in the Jar” – Metallica (awesome combo of metal and traditional Irish pub music)
“Home for a Rest” – Spirit of the West (overplayed up here on Frosh mixes for a decade now – but I have lived the song… and I know all the lyrics)
“50 Mission Cap” – The Tragically Hip (love the fact that Leafs history inspired the song)
“New Orleans is Sinking” – The Tragically Hip (the Killer Whale Tank version is a classic… although neither has been on the radio lately – guess it’s still bad taste along with Zeppelin’s When the Levee Breaks)
