I'm confused. Was this an informal rush for upperclassmen only?

I went through recruitment at my previous university and received a bid from ABC sorority and accepted. I never went through initiation though and dropped from them. At my new school, I knew without a doubt I would want to go through the recruitment process again. So...here is where I will begin my story.
(There are three Panhellenic sororites at my university. I will call them Alpha, Beta, and Delta. These names have absolutely no reference to the real sorority name. They are just going to be used as reference.)

My question is, I have to register for recruitment process over here and didn't list that I was previously a pledge to another chapter. Will they be able to find out that I lied? Like I said, I never initiated to that sorority. Also, no GPA minimum was listed on the registration nor on the website, so will my low GPA hurt me?

Surprising, indeed.

Never heard of a campus where sorority recruitment is currently being done this way... sure doesn't sound legit

Ha...well I think it's real cute how you think my story isn't real. I agree, it is by far the oddest recruitment I have ever been through and it was not your "typical rush" but I find it insulting to suggest I'm lying?
Perhaps this helps prove my point?

Oh, absolutely. Because no one could ever post a picture of a group and not be affiliated with the people in the picture.

I do know of one Texas campus who is still doing recruitment this way - or at least was last year. That school is moving to (or at least using on a trial basis) bid matching this year but I can definitively say that there are still schools out there that are following hybrid models of formal recruitment.

Jesus Christ, I'm so done with this conversation. People would rather be negative and say mean things than congratulate someone on their achievement.

sratted_out, if you are a new pearl sister I congratulate you, but please be advised that some of your posts on here were very confusing and didn't make sense. When that happens, people are going to think you're either a troll or making up things. You'll be hearing the phrase "poise and purpose" a lot - displaying it sooner rather than later is in your best interests and in the best interests of your chapter.

I have limited knowledge of UWA, but I can say this is how they do their recruitment. One of my sister's cousins (or niece, I can't recall exactly) goes there and went through recruitment. I just asked her about it and she said yes, this is how it's done. My org. is on campus and although their site is a bit vague, it speaks of their rush event as if it was a one-time, one-night event.
OP: congratulations to you. I hope you'll make the most of your sisterhood and realize there are many reasons to choose a sorority beyond good looks. Good luck.

Considering that we already know from your own words that you are a liar, why should we believe anything that you say now?

What a very special new member you are going to be, assuming that you don't dump this group, too... or vice versa.

I hope this doesn't come across as snarky because that truly is not my intent, but what is everyone doubting here? Maybe it's because I've worked with a few schools with various forms of modified recruitment, but this doesn't sound too weird to me. Every school seems to have a slightly different version of modified recruitment (I once cataloged about 30 of them and no two were the same), and this one just seems very laid back to me. Did I miss over something?
