I was assuming y'all were talking about the curtain-print dress on the right. Is the black/white combo the one that's an issue? That didn't jump out to me the way it apparently did for y'all haha

okay, so absolutely no on feathers/tinsel and that preference dress, haha. What about TOMS shoes? On another thread everyone was saying no to TOMS too, but on that What to Wear guide, I think the girl in one of the t-shirt days was wearing a pair..so yes or no for Mizzou recruitment?

Ummm NO. No Tom's shoes. No birks. Say yes to ballet flats and kitten heels. Even really cute espadrilles (the wedgy cute ones, not Tom's shoe style) would work with an adorable sun dress. You should really visit the polyvore thread and look through the sets. Missour-- at least where I come from in Missouri, is pretty conservative and preppy. You should be polished down to the last detail but not overdone.

I know nothing about Mizzou. But, a good general rule: if you are at all unsure, don't. Be conservative. Is it really worth not getting a bid because you wore shoes or anything else that put the chapters off? Keep your outfit put together and classic, but dazzle your rushers with your personality.
That said, if you are changing every aspect of your personality/style for recruitment, maybe being Greek isn't for you. Look for the chapter you will fit in with without all of the makeup/cute clothes, one that you can see yourself in at 3am in your PJs talking honestly and openly with the sisters.

Almost everything on the Mizzou "What to Wear" page seems really awful!
No TOMS.
No weird crap in your hair. Ever. Unless it's a mixer

^ indeed. Can we just petition them to redo their style guide? I don't think they're helping much with that...
Best of luck to all the PNM's

My guess on that is that it's philanthropy round, which probably includes craft making, and may get messy. So they recommend t-shirts.

It says that the rush fee covers (among other things) 3 t-shirts - I'm guessing they get 2 for the first round (over 2 days) and one for philanthropy round. That is covered in the book the girls get I'm sure. I don't think they are saying the rushees should just show up in any old random t-shirt.
