MAKE IT STOP.
I think I know where this is too BluPhire.
Glad to know that we've adopted NPCs recruitment terminology. Shout out to the NPHC PNMs!

Well, if it's where I think it is, she at least changed the names.

I'm in Texas. I know diddly-squat about NPHC chapters in the NE and I have figured it out too.
I would like her to continue, if it is real.

Woops I wasn't intending to come off like I was throwing shade. I guess I see how it could come across that way *shrug.* Thanks for the tips and I'll keep pushing forward. And no, I'm not a troll. I'm too lazy to troll. Yes this is my third post but I haven't really had anything to contribute to the forums that I visit (recruitment, sorority recruitment, recruitment stories).
Anyway, today's event was really fun and informative. It was advertised as a tea but it was more of a networking event. Most people made sure to avoid the 3 B's (boys, booze and bank), but there were a few people who tip-toed into that area. In order to keep everything organized they used a modified bumping system. We had about 20 minutes for conversation in each room and then we were directed to our next room by their "Mom." Their bumps were a little awkward because they would literally cut people off mid-sentence in order to stay on time. Once it became clear that we were under such tight time constraints everyone starting rushing to made sure that their voice was heard. However, the members were good at making sure that everyone got a chance to speak at least once. If they saw that one girl was trying to speak (but getting buried under everyone else), they'd call her name and say something like "Ooh, that sounds really fun Karla, what do you think Jessi?"
Despite their efforts, the event was somewhat overwhelming because we were rushed in huge groups. Each room had 5 members to about 12ish PNM's and we were all apart of the same conversation. I don't mean to throw shade, but I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't do 1 member for every 2/3 PNM's? Maybe they wanted each member to "meet" all of the PNM's? Anyway, they took notes on everything we said which felt a little awkward, but I can see how it'll be helpful later on. There are so many girls interested in this sorority that it would be impossible to remember everything without some kind of record.
I think today's event was the best event that they've had so far because it gave everyone more of a chance to get to know each other. Typically their events are presentations about their philanthropy or discussions about society in general. This event was great because they asked us personal/serious/funny questions and we got to ask them questions in return. After I left todays event I felt a lot more connected to the other PNM's in my group.
Moments that made me cringe/shade throwing haha:
-Some of the members were texting/playing with/checking their phones during the conversations. They asked us to turn off our cell-phones (which was reasonable) so I think they should have done the same.
-During one of the rounds they asked us to share an embarrassing thing that we do alone (and no one else knows about). Once people started sharing things one of the members would cut a girl off if she didn't thing the action was embarrassing enough. It was funny the first few times but then it got to be annoying due to the constraints of the situation. Obviously no one (with a brain) is going to share an action that paints them in a negative light. It almost felt like she wanted someone to say that they regurgitate their food and then eat it again. When someone finally shared something that was truly disgusting, the member pushing for the gross stories was dumbstruck.

The more I think about it, the more I think this may be fake.
I mean, who says bump/PNM/etc. at a non-NPC sorority event?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think NPHCs use those terms.

Yeah the whole thing rings alarm bells, I suspect it is either entirely fake, and/or done in bad faith (as in, only being written to throw shade*) and hence the incorrect terms.
*new favorite phrase, I really want to use it in person, but think I'll sound stupid.
