I would consider them Alterna-funk. I never got into metal except for a brief minute in HS when I bought this Type O Negative single. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO9aD...eature=channel

When you start making subgenres of a subgenre of a subgenre I get all confused...as I am now. Its all rock & roll to me, or as they say, the devil's music.

I get it all confused, too. It's just music to me. I wouldn't call it "the devil's" music, though, because some of the devil's people/minions listen to Christian music, too.

Or you know, Christians can play and write metal.

One of my favorite acts, August Burns Red, is Christian.
If you guys want a laugh, check out the differences between black metal and white/unblack metal.

AILD's new album blows everything they've done out of the water. As far as Dragonforce is concerned they're very predictable, write music that has to be edited in the studio, and solo in the exact same key, but enjoyable if you turn your brain off. Their first two albums are much better than their last two.

^ Do it. It feels like their earlier albums showed potential, but this new one they actually put their heads down and wrote some great stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLd6h5td8G4
